Nice car. Is that an original Amercan Alfasud or European import. Those
sidelights are typical for USA cars, i think?

Hi Kas
It's an European Import the Suds were not imported by alfa in the US. Yes the side lights are typical for US cars.
They are already off the car at the moment it's going thru restoration, hope to be done by next summer (unfortunately because of my crazy schedule at work).

Hi All,

Ok took some some pics of my black 83ti on saturday, although as you can see I didn't bother cleaning it before the pics (well didn't clean it after either!) and I forgot my camera so took these on my phone, so they may be a bit grainy, anyway!

So far the mods I've done have been;

Koni Yellow (adj) front shocks
Avo (adj) rear shocks
Autodelta UK springs (very STIFF)
Polyutherane bushes all round
OMP strut brace
Tarox 40 groove front discs
Tarox fast road pads (front)
7x15 Azevs
195/45 Bridgestones
Supersprint back box
Removed centre silencer
3 point harnesses
Sparco steering wheel
Momo gearknob

Thats it so far (I think), I removed the 1.5 lump on Saturday morning and next week will remove the gearbox and attach it to the 1.7 16v lump and see what bits I'll be using from either engine. Then will need to sort out an inlet manifold to accept the Yamaha R1 carbs I'll be running it on. After that then, just need to fit the recaro's and roll cage and do some general tidying up. Also, once all done will have it resprayed including all the plastic bodykit parts.

Oh and with regards to my silver 79ti, well I thought I better see just how bad the rust is, the bottom of the doors are knackered, below the o/s/r window has a hole and theres some bad rust near the bottom of the windscreen, worst of all is I jacked it up and 2 of the 4 jacking points collapsed!!! Amazingly, under all the plastic arches was fine! Overall though doesn't seem that bad at all.

Cheers,
Jaty.

It could just be my other ego speaking, but that car is seriously one of the sexiest suds I have ever seen. They look sensational in black!

Yep Azevs rule, although I can't imagine a single car they wouldn't look good on!

Supersprint back box does indeed sound good (especially now that its the only silencer on the car!!) and is quality made item.

What do you guys think of the rear light tint I did?? I just tinted the top half so it looked a bit more 'modern'.

Jaty.

Hi Hans,

love the pictures of your silver Sud, love the number plate, only in the good ole US of A hey! - at least they have a considerate attitude to our beloved cars!
Interesting you say you are having the Sud giardinetta restored in Deutschland, your name sounds German, or do you just trust the restoration talents there more than in the USA? I am English but live in Munich - its a mixed up world we live in - where I have my English Sud, needs a bit of work before it looks like your car... but it will get there one day. Best of luck with your women troubles, they are the worst kind of problems, if you have to sell a car or two just make sure they go to good homes, you can always buy them back later...

Cheers Graham.

87Sprint,

Yep I tried to keep it nice and subtle as I could, I just don't like orange lenses!!
We can get done by the police here if the tints are too dark but as long as your sensible your ok.

Hi All,

Ok so I've attached the 16v lump to the 1500 box now and the engine is back in the bay, just need to get the front pulley machined down to clear the radiator and I'm getting closer. Just need to have the inlet manifolds machined down to accept the carbs and then hopefully be able to fire her up!

Jaty.
