Nice Sud. 1979? Fot his age it seems in a pretty good condition, for as far i can see from up here. Ive seen worse. Is it a big problem to get spare parts in the UK? Bodyparts are a big problem in Holland. Interior parts too.

Where do you guys get body and interior parts from in Europe/UK?
Supply of parts specific to the Alfasud is a real concern of mine - most parts cars have long since gone over here.

I posted this in the Sydney Concorso thread but it deserves a place here too.
This late model Sud was perfect!

Kas,
It is indeed a 1979 ti. Yes so far it looks to be ok, I haven't seen any structural rust problems (yet!!) and most the rust that is on it is easily sorted. The interior itself is complete and in good condition, just needs a really really good clean!!! This car has been standing in a garage for the past 10 years, BUT the weird thing is that I my dad used to service the car for the owner (who bought this when it was 3 months old) so was by chance that I now have it!! As you can see it also has a full length webasto sunroof, so is proper retro!! I probably won't get much done on it just yet as I'm busy finishing of my other Sud, which has turned into a fast road/track car, to which I've done plenty and currently getting ready to drop in a 1.7 16v lump still using my 1500 gearbox and then gotta fit the roll cage too. I'll be running the engine on carbs (yamaha R1 carbs to be exact) so will be needing to get a manifold fabricated and then set up may take a while! Should be fun though!
As for parts, well some of the mechanical bits you can get here in the UK, but I've had to buy stuff from abroad or had bits machined up, etc. Interior wise I'd say the only way is to find someone scrapping one and buy what you need, or just have to wait until something pops up on ebay. Which reminds me I must make a list of Sud parts I have that I don't need so can sell. eg, I have a pair (2 pairs I think) of brand new inner headlamps for series 3 ti, rear beam axle, amongst other stuff.
Is great to see other Suds out there, I love 'em!!
Jaty.

they are from the "danish historic motorsport" racing - the shots were actually taken at Sturup in South Sweden (my father in-law races his Morgan in the same raceseries but a higher class).
heres some video footage.

Maybe this is interesting for you. A great forum ( unfortunatly in Dutch ) with a lot of Alfa enthusiasts. These guy is rebuilding an Alfasud with also a 16 valve engine with carbs. http://www.alfaclub.nl/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=12790
Thanks everybody for all those story`s and pictures.
