It take me some week to finish this GTA project......hhhh
Maybe the real thing i'll never get but this one will join my collection with pride.
The car is GTA Tamiya 1:24 model
I has been looking at the Tamiya model for some time at ebay, but opted for the Yat Ming diecast model instead. (Realizing I would never get the Tamiya model done.... ) But this really inspires me - it look gorgeous, good job!
Kai,
The A-pillars are definitely WAY too thick, but apart from that, its a very nice model at a very reasonable price. Paint and chrome is ok. Motor, transmission and interior detail is very, very good. The bonnet and boot lid doesnt open very much, but shut lines are fine.
Overall very recommendable. Theres one right here: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3561490938&category=9110
Get one like this on last Frankfurt motor show, the paint and crome are OK but the details and trim colors are not correct.
Must to repaint it.
In things like this you get what you pay.
Back when I used to build such things (before I started building real ones), I used to use piano wire. However, there is a type of coated wire that you can find at most hardware stores which comes with a plastic coating in red, green, blue and other colors.
A good thing to use for hyperdetailing like that is painted soldering wire/thread (dont know what its called ). You can get it in different thicknesses, and its easy to shape - and stays in shape.
