Photoshop Question
Hi Folks,
I'm able to resize individual photos in PS to post on the forum, but how does one resize MULTIPLE pictures simultaneously, or is that possible? I have an entire day's pictures that I'd like to post, and would appreciate a quicker way to prep them for posting. Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything about photoshop. I found a neat free utility called Xnview that does batch processes. With it, you can change the resolution (if necessary) and resize images in bulk. It also has many other pretty neat features.

Photoshop has several ways to do this:
1) Make and save an Action that resizes, color corrects, and sharpens (you should be doing all of these, not just resizing). After the Action is saved, you can run the Batch command on your photos and it will apply the Action to all of them.
2) Use the Web Photo Gallery option, which will resize the photos, make thumbnails and a gallery, and create the HTML pages to navigate between the photos.

Thanks for the tips, Osso and Joe.
Comparison below of the same photo, first one by XnView, second by PS; not much of a difference, except in brightness. I noticed also that XnView uses bilinear, while I've set PS to use bicubic for resampling images. All graphics jargon to me; I don't know what the difference is. In any case, My problem is solved; will post my pics in a new thread sometime today: "Wine Country Classics 2006 Pics".

The Photoshop image is a little sharper, maybe 20%. However, they both look very good.

I generally use Photoshop, and as Joe mentioned, the batch mechanism works great once you've set it up.
Your photos look good. Do size it for 800x600 so we could get more details in the pics though.

Will try; I had originally set my postings at 450x338 so as to keep the files small enough for upload; not sure if the forum software will allow a file size of 800x600 pixels.

The physical size/resolution of the picture does not necessarily determine the file size. That's the beauty of the JPEG compression algorithm.
For example, look at the 2 pictures below. They are both 800 x 600, however the first one was saved with the JPEG quality set to 50, and is 148 KB. The second one was saved with the JPEG quality set to 0, and is 44 KB. You'll notice the second one is has what we call "artifacting" around edges and is generally blocky - that's what you give up when you compress an image more.

I tried this option as well. First concern is that PS seemingly limits the pictures to a maximum size of 450 pixels; I guess this is to ensure there is space for accompanying thumbnails. Secondly, I had trouble making the pages work on tripod.com, where I have a free website; this is probably because Tripod imposes ads on the page, or does not work well with frames. Might just need to upload the pics manually onto the forum.

Testing
Testing: 800x600 pixels; Quality: 75%; 191.8K
I like the results, but it took a while longer to upload.

My favorite free file viewer is Irfanview. It will also do batch processing, and allow you to set the compression level in jpg's at the same time. Also automatically creates thumbnailed web pages of photos...the list goes on and on...
