I couldn't find anything similar anywhere else, including alfaromeo.com. They did have a nice slide show of American owned alfas though.

From babelfish (Note their translation of Alfa to Alpha, not mine)

From the Duetto to the Brera: the Alpha returns in the USA the last car to being sold in the States was the 164, until 1995. The passion between the "alfisti" of oltreoceano never has not come little STRUMENTIVERSIONE STAMPABILEI PIU' LETTIINVIA THIS ARTICLE TURIN - "Romeo Alpha will return in the United States". It has announced, in the course of a conference call on the data of first trimester 2006, the general executive manager of the Turinese group, Sergio Marchionne second which I re-enter of the brand in earth American in the time more "possible" content will contribute, in important way, to objects you of sale stilati for marks it of the Biscione. SUPERCAR - The news was run more times, quite had spoken about a new disembarkation in earth American not before 2007. Probable that this is the date in which the Alpha it will return on one of the markets that them have procurato many joys but also many pains. And the better way in order to return between gets passionate to it to you yankees is that one of having one important bridgehead: like moving supercar 8C the Competition that will come produced in limited number and that it would have to to make one's debut to the hall of Detroit 2007. The ABANDONMENT: The MEMORY - the Alpha abandoned the market American in 1995, little after to have celebrated ottant' years of the foundation happened in 1911. In those 1991, I personally carried to the mayor of Milan (Ohio) the medal memory of ottant' the years: the Alpha gliela sended in sign of sympathy and gemellaggio: today written Milan does not appear more on the badge with the biscione. I guided, then, 164, the last car exported on the market American and I gave back it to the alfisti mechanics to Indianapolis where it marks it of the biscione was engaged in most famous the 500 miles. In the States, before the 164, they had been sold other models of the Romeo Alpha to leave from the end of years ' 50 always receiving warm acceptances also for via of the Duetto protagonist of one of most famous films interprets to you from Dustin Hoffman, "the graduated one". MILAN - With a launch in great style, in spring 1986 came introduced to Phoenix, in Arizona, Milan (that it came sold from we like "75"). Externally, they had the bumpers to USA norms that we give we would be we before arrive the successive year to you on the 3000 V6 and then on Turbo, but equips you of side markers oltrechè with a layout of leggermente various coloration. The mostrina to center plancia had written "chromium plated Milan", and framed lighters with the four-leaf clover impresso on the knurl. Conditioned air of series on all the models, differentiates them self-locking, sun-roof and ABS. AMERICANATE - For the commercialization in simultaneous of 164 USA and Spider Alpha Romeo Distributors Of North America) in joint venture with Chrysler came founded the Ardona (, than then sluice in 1994 came, supplanting the old Alpha Romeo Inc. that had one center on the coast the west (in New JerseY) and east (in California). In 1990 the Romeo Alpha had launch on the USA market in 1990 the 164 and the fast Spider. Of the first Spider sold in California, in 1978, it had been realized a orrenda americanata called "Niki Lauda F1", in order to celebrate the Austrian pilot that gives the Ferrari was passed to the scuderia Brabham Romeo Alpha. HIGH FEVER - the 164 were, like saying, the last car of the Biscione to being sold on the market American who hour reopens for one new adventure. Obviously in the United States it is salting the fever in sight of a possible future return of the Romeo Alpha, to twelve years from its departure. To dispetto of the little tears poured from the Americans for the goodbye to others marks is still strongly it wants of the alfisti of the States see again to rombare on the roads to stars and strisce the cars of the brand of the Biscione. According to the Detroit News they are many it gets passionate Americans who give 1995 to you, year in which the Romeo Alpha it left the USA market officially, have held lives the hope of a return on the roads of the brand Italian. "Those that know and love these cars, best known with the term ' alfisti', - online of the newspaper adds to the edition American - are still devout people to the Italian brand. To convention the anniversary of the Club of the owners of Romeo Alpha, kept to July to Bellevue (Washington), hundreds of alfisti Americans are arrive you to the assembly to edge of famous models of the past ". Very nice article, seems relatively legit and with increasing Fiat sales, it could happen.

Basically Marchione said alfa will return because of increasing Fiat Group sales. It also states that Alfa, unlike other brands that have left the continent, is still remembered and has a good following of enthusiast.

The 8C will most likely return the brand to NA

Guys, it's about f*cking time you people can buy them again.

I'm a euro, but imo it's a shame you never got the 147/156/166/GTV-Spider(tipo 916).
Even if it's FWD-only

Well I hope........

the crappy old Volvo holds out until they return so I can save my sheckels.
The lovely woman I am married to said that it's a go on a new one when they
come back. And just think... I was going to buy a Suzuki Grand Vitara

I swear there must be people at Alfa and Fiat that get a huge thrill out of watching us get all lathered up every time we read these reports. "Hey Luigi! Watch what happens when I send an 'official return date' out to the press!" "Ah, hah, hah! That's funny! Do it again!"
