Smile The August issue of Motor Trend says it is...

So many of these threads related to this subject so I apologize if this information is repeated elsewhere on the Board. Full page article stating it's a done deal, only working out the final details. Nothing on the Alfa website yet. Also, here's a link:

Hope springs eternal!

That's a lot of semi-dubious info in one place. Lemme quote:

...the art-like Brera three-door coupe, and the Spider, of course, plus the equally beautiful convertible.
What's the last car he's talking about here? A Spider and a convertible? Huh?

Quote:
The brand’s choice to build the old 147 off an Alfa Romeo chassis, as opposed to a mass-market Fiat paid dividends; the car was completely free of being knocked as a clone, helping Alfa rebuild its name.
The 156 (and hence the 147 and the GT ) is built on a Fiat Tipo platform. It is not an "Alfa Romeo chassis".

Quote:
...the 147, a compact hatchback which rubs shoulders with the Audi A3 Sportback, the BMW 3-Series Compact, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sport Coupe.
What's he smoking? The A3 I agree with, but the 147 is a C-class car ("The Golf segment"), hence the natural competitor for the 147 is the 1-series BMWs. Maybe the C-class thing is where he stumbled and tried to bring in Mercedes

Quote:
Alfa has decided to switch to a shared architecture for the 148; the car will feature a chassis and suspension system used in Fiat’s new C-Sector car
Where are his sources? Everyone and their granny is calling the 147 followup for 149, so where's this model number come from?

Granted, he might eventually be right, but the whole blog (yes, blog...) reeks of equal parts thinking aloud and making ****e up.
