They use salt - lots of salt here in Denmark. Thats the main reason why 60's and 70's Alfas like the Sud, are a rare sight nowadays. Many of the Giulias around are imported in th 90's from Italy - og California

Most Alfisti in Denmark keep their old Alfas stored over the winter, and drive some other car or newer Alfa instead. The 164 is keeping up very well, being galvanized - and front-wheel drive is very nice when the roads get slippery. I once had a Maserati I drove over winter - man, that was a nightmare getting up the smallest hill.
Anyways, I believe in using my cars, so I am going to drive my Junior all year around. I am going to have it dipped in waxoyl, wash it regularly, keep it in the garage overnight, and hope for a mild winter so they keep the salt to a minimum. Interesting to see how much is left of it, come spring.
