Well, it is only 4 - the Vespa is a scooter

Although Denmark is a small country - there is always room for another Alfa! I actually used to live in Ohio (Newark) - remember lots of space there too - but the weather just about as lousy as here in Denmark.

My garage has room for 2 cars - so the spider and the Junior gets to be in there. The parts car have found its (final?) resting space in the back of the garden. When I sit on my porch, I can enjoy that perfect italian design while sipping some chianti. I like it - my wife doesnt... The daily driver 164 sits out front. Not perfect for an italian car, considering the danish weather - but since its galvanized, it actually holds up pretty well. As usual at this time a year, I am promising myself to build a carport for it come spring - lets see.

Jørgen,

You will know that you have gone too far when you wife starts planting flowers in the Alfa!

What do they use on the roads in Denmark for the snow? As you know well, in Ohio they just dump as much salt as they can to melt the snow. Not the best for the cars.

I lived in the Cincinnati area on and off for about 12 years. Ohio is kind of boring compared to California, but you have a lot of extra cash to travel wherever.

Take care,

alfa_164s,

'94 was the last year for the Spider for the US. They made a limited run of 190 vehicles with this wood grain interior - on the center consule area and the doors. On the glove box you can see a plackard signifying the production number. These and the emblem up front and the special wheel center caps for a lot of extra $$$. Not worth it. But, I was in the market for a new car and always wanted an Alfa - why not!

Take care,

They use salt - lots of salt here in Denmark. Thats the main reason why 60's and 70's Alfas like the Sud, are a rare sight nowadays. Many of the Giulias around are imported in th 90's from Italy - og California .

Most Alfisti in Denmark keep their old Alfas stored over the winter, and drive some other car or newer Alfa instead. The 164 is keeping up very well, being galvanized - and front-wheel drive is very nice when the roads get slippery. I once had a Maserati I drove over winter - man, that was a nightmare getting up the smallest hill.
Anyways, I believe in using my cars, so I am going to drive my Junior all year around. I am going to have it dipped in waxoyl, wash it regularly, keep it in the garage overnight, and hope for a mild winter so they keep the salt to a minimum. Interesting to see how much is left of it, come spring.
