A few things to note about the setup:
turbo is not the turbo I will be useing...just for fitting purposes.
Setup will run with supercharger down low and GT3071R rollerbearing turbo for whole range. This turbo I suspect will have a decent amount of lag on a 2L so I plan to use the supercharger to give crisp throttle response down low. The additional flow should help spool the turbo further.
Currently trying to decide what to do about mono sleeve (ie trying to work out a system that does not cost 5g's just for the sleeve!). Actually I am sersiously considering making my own.....put my engineering background to use :-)
low comp forged pistons are about to be ordered from JE.
forged rods on back order.
Anyway, I plan to post a lot more info, this is just a teaser for now....just dummy fitting stuff to get the packaging right, before full strip down and rebuild. I plan to do it all myself.

That is totally awesome. I have long thought that a turbo and supercharger setup would be incredible. Are you going to route all the turbocharger's output through the supercharger or have some kind of bypass? What about the supercharger drive? Will you de-couple it somehow?

Glad you like it Randy,
to answer your questions:
supercharger is staged to run from 0-4500rpm. It is then switched off via clutch and the turbo flow bypasses the supercharger, via a suitable valve (currnetly being researched).
So 4500<x<7500rpm the turbo will feed the engine as though it were a turbo only motor via an intercooler.
Its comeing together nicely so far but I'm a ways off of course. realistically, I hope to have it in the car and running by end of this year. I'm doing as much as possible myself, so it all takes time.

You need to start your own thread for this. I would be very interested to see each stage of progress. I am sure that others would too. I don't think that anyone has ever done a dual-boosted Alfa engine. Perhaps in the "Engine Conversions" forum. While not tecnically an engine conversion, it sure as heck is one in spirit!
If you do, please post a link here.

Randy took the words out of my mouth. This thread would be wonderful to follow in either Alfetta & GTV6 or Engine Conversions. True, you're not installing a 'different type' of engine in an Alfetta, but it sure is a converted one! It really get's lost here. Mind repeating this same info in one of the other forums?
When I saw this yesterday my thought was 'shades of the 80's Lancia rally cars'.
Not remotely trying to find fault, but there are obviously two (forced) air sources for the inlet. What will you be using for the fuel part? The supercharger's outlet is pointing in the wrong direction. Solution? Is there room on the driver's/left side for this turbo arrangement? Last question (for now). Where will the air to air or air to water heat exchanger go?

There is a thread, it's in the engine conversions forum of the Alfabb.

Hi guys,
yes I agree and have listed the post under eng conversions now so people can comment and watch the progress.
Find fault as much as you like, it can only serve to help the end product.
The scharger outlet will be cut and shut to point forward and go between the belts. Actually there is room to bend it back if need be anyway.
As for room for turbno, this setup as it sits came out of a rhd alfetta...remeber I drive on the other side of the road ;-). So yep it fits perfectly.
Intercooler is air to air and is custom to fit in the front...actually I got it off an Alfa that had already supercharged his alfa...so again, it fits nicely.
Fuel part...camira inlet manifold, rx7 s5 fuel injectors (550cc), bosch factory computer and crank angle sensor...fully programmable, lada niva coils/crank sensor, and the coild I could not get anymore with the ignitor, so I got them NOS from a cavalier I think it was. Lots of old GM stuff used the same setup.
I have all the parts sitting in the shed....granted it does not run yet, so I wont get too cocky...but I am quietly confident.

new wheels should be sorted by next week randy, more pictures to follow then. small confession, not QUITE perfect. removed trim from sills to accomodate bigger wheels and tyres, but sprayed it black and replaced with 1800 sill trims, so you probably wouldnt pick it without knowing what to look for
also has a GTV6 drivers seat now, which makes it much better while scraping door handles. All of which only add to the driving pleasure of the angry little Italian beast.

Alfetta bumpers
Do you know any used parts sources that might have a set of those bumpers in decent condition?
Cecilia needs to lose weight...

Mat, those wheels are sweet! Paint the centres gold, lose the 4X4 stance and you're good to go.
No where near original, but they fill out the arches nicley and are in keeping with the period of the car, IMHO anyway.

thanks Luke! but to be perfectly honest, the wheels are actually off my brother's car, they are only temporary
on the bright side, they will make his car look really nice! (a blue 78 alfetta sedan also)
i've got another 2 sets of mags in the shed, just have to decide which ones will get the R type tyres and which ones to put on permanantly. more pics to follow
oh, just out of curiosity Luke, are you racing Sandown on sunday?
