So here is my new Alfetta...

It is a 1984 Alfetta 2000 L, in very nice condition

Here is a thread about it, looking for various advice!

Nice score Oelholm, give it a cut and polish and Simon might put it on the masthead!

I think the last-of-the-line Alfettas are nice cars to live with, better than a lot of stuff that was around at the time.

I agree about the last Alfettas

I was lucky enough to drive what is almost assuredly the only post-1979 Alfetta Sedan in the US. It is a 1984 Q.O. in Dallas, and I must say, despite being in somewhat ratty condition, it had a smoothness and driving character that was pretty distinctive. If it wasn't for the rust at the base of the windshield, hidden under the plastic cowl, I would've bought it. If I am very lucky, someday I will find a way to import a nice one like Oelholm's.

A picture or two of our '79 Sprint Veloce.

I really like this car, I'll have better pictures of the car up in the near future. This car was formerly Sfalfa's, and he took great care of it!

First thing I did was lower it! I understand why he had it up high... he had to.

But, I found that the shankle sport torsion bars, 27mm front sway bar, and stock milano rear springs and sway bar, made a heavy understeerer.

I put the supplied shankle rear springs back in and lowered, and the car oversteers slightly now, which is great!

He knows how to take care of Alfas, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from him! He sold her to make space for a Fulvia I think.

BTW, I looked up EPA figures for fuel economy on the Mondial Cab, I'm sure it's 100% worth it though, you should bring her on an ARA drive so I can get a ride

11 city, 16 hiway, and 13 combined? BS! I get much better mileage than that. On the way home from LA, I got very close to 25. She's a pure delight from begining to end. You'll see...

Next time I do some driving, I will do some strictly controlled testing and we'll get to the bottom of this. Maybe I'm all starry eyed.

A couple of pics of GiuliaBianca's new GTV6 at home in Belgium.
If you recall, this was a California car from new and is now the only Gold, rust free GTV6 in his area!

Hey Grant - Thanks for posting pics of my old baby! I told you you'd like it once it was lowered, and put back the way it was meant to be. I really wanted to be able to keep it lowered, but like I showed you - I couldn't get it in the garage. I must confess - I do miss the car, it was the best driving Alfetta I ever had - and seats/stereo made it great for travel. That said - I am totally in love with the Fulvia - what it lacks in grunt, it more than make up for in handling. It's amazing how fast it is through the twisties.

Also - did you lose the speaker cover on the passenger side - if so - you can contact the manufacturer and they'll send you a new one for free (at least they did for me when I lost one!).

Thanks again.

Sweet...it just fell off, but that's good info to know.

Jeff, if you look on bringatrailer.com, there's a picture of you cornering hard in the featured snowball rally. Have you seen it?

Yeah - I saw it, I subscribe to it. What you don't see is that it's a crazy rutted gravel road!
