CSRG Infineon Raceway Pictures
Hi Folks,
I went to the CSRG's first 2006 event out at Sears Point today, and took a few pics of racing Alfas. Our favorite marque was very well represented, with 4 or 5 GTAs, and a bunch of 750/101s, mostly hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. We also had an SZ (GeorgeJ?) and an ultra-fast 8C2300 that left the rest of the field eating its dust.
That's Glenn Oliveria of Oliveria Engineering under the blue Spider.
I didn't have my good camera with me, so the pictures were shot with my wife's camera phone - sorry about the graininess.

Lastly, the grey Fiat sedan did pretty well, too!

Sean,
It's a two-day event - they'll be practicing in the morning and racing in the afternoon. You've still got time to go! Have fun and take more pics - my camera phone ran out of memory after just these few pics.
I went up in my Subie; the Spider's got cracked fuel lines.

The first GTA with no number and the #132 car look reall nice. Who owns them? The little red SZ with a CA black plate looks awesome.

Anthony,
I don't know who owns the GTAs you mentioned, but the CSRG Alfa drivers profiles ( http://www.csrgracing.org/profilecsrg.html#cars) allows you to learn who the owners/drivers are, and even contact them.
The SZ might be George Jewett's, since he's the only member with an SZ in the profiles.

My car was snug at home in the garage on Saturday.
The SZ with the black plates is Esta (and Martin) Swigs car. Esta was driving the SZ and Martin did a great job with the Fiat 1100. The Zagato started life as a Giulietta Spider, was crashed, and the owner took it to Zagato for a new body like the SZ. It has been in Northern Calif for 30 - 35 years.
I dragged myself up this morning (Sunday) and had a fine morning warm up although the afternoon race was less memorable. I was stuck behind a really lovely Siata otto vue and a Sprite. Just as I was passing the Sprite the yellow came out due to off road excursion and resulting reconfiguration of another Sprite. When the yellow was lifted I got passed a couple cars, but still was in the second half (of the second half). - George
Here are a couple photos of the Alfa ghetto:

Ya: Alfa Getto. Too cool George.
I just found this about 3 min. ago.
Pathung cool shots of Saterday and your photos are as good as my expensive Dig. camera. Hum.... G.J. Photos rock. What clear shots.
Thank You for posting, there are more on Sunday on other post.
Maybe there is a way to put both these together??
Got to eat
Take care

Hopefully I'll get to a CSRG event this year with the GTA. Maybe in the fall? Do you guys have any big events at Laguna or Infineon then?
PSB, you race your car this weekend?
George, that SZ rocks! I really admire you driving it to and from the track...real vintage racing!
Hopefully I'll get "jumped" into the AlFa GhEtTo one day
P.S. Whose GTA with no number and #132? I don't think I've seen those two before.

Is the Fiat 1100 a TV? Any photos of the engine compartment of that car?

The CSRG will hold the Charity Challenge on October 13-15, again at Sears Point ( http://www.csrgracing.org/charitycsrg.html). According to their schedule, a race at Laguna Seca is being planned for September, but it's still tentative.
I have no engine shots of the Fiat, unfortunately.

Hey Anthony, in the sun, what more can you say. I'll check to see which car #132 is.
The BIG CSRG event is the mid-October Charity Challenge. It is a bit lower key than Wine Country, but the biggest CSRG event never the less. I try not to miss that one. I hear some Monterey entries have been accepted but not entries for Wine Country. - George

The charity event sounds cool. I'll pencil it in.
A friend of mine got accepted with a TZ already! I've been running to the mail box every time I hear the mail man drive up but nothing yet Hopefully I'll find out soon cuz I'll use my racing money to go hang out in Cancun if I'm not accepted! I'll keep you posted if I receive any mail.
