Nice pictures. Is the car in the second picture ("1300 AR") yours?

I wish! It was a very neat Junior. I couldn't find the owner to get a look under the bonnet.

Don't know what the deal is in Western Australia, but in the ACT you just order custom plates for you car's VRN (which is not the number displayed on the plate. Mine, for example is 401475, whereas the rego plate was YSH016 before someone stole it, is now YEE75A). The trick is it's expensive -- A plate that just says "ALFA" (or "ALFA ROMEO") costs over $3500 (Ouch!) or about $1950 if you want to include say, a number, or the model.

Hiya John good to see another sandgroper on the BB, there are a couple of us lurking around.
My camera died on me so I only get these couple of more shots.
The "AR" plates are arranged by the AROCA WA - much like the footy clubs, Perth Glory etc. I'm not a member, so I can't tell you anything more I'm sorry.

You guys can get some pretty long number plates over there!! "DELTAEVO1"!!
I'll take the Zagato thanks, perhaps minus those wheels.
I have a soft spot for WA, my car having been originally delivered in Perth and spent most of its life from 1991-2003 in the Claremont area, original WA rego XFA-399, perhaps some of you long time WA people will remember it - John Throssell was the previous owner.
Looks like you had a lovely day - love the 1300GTJ and ZagatoJ, but car of the show is definitely that stunning 58 Spider.

There were a half-dozen Lambos there (not my cup of tea) - one had a number plate "LAMBORGHINI"!!! The only limit seems to be the size of the plate.
The Junior Z was very cool, I was lucky enough to hear it drive in. I loved the GTJ (inspired me to do something with my car) but absolutely agree on the Giulietta - just gorgeous. Even had 165/65 Cinturatos on it!

I dont like all lambos - I completely hate Countach and Diablo, and in a way Murcie is too big too, but Gallardo would be a blast and shows you think more than a Ferrari owner.
My fav would be the 70s Urraco or Islero though, both just stunning cars. My fav all time ital supercar would prob be a Maserati Bora though

I always found the Junior Z to be an awkward (if not futuristic) design. I think the black one above looks absolutely superb. I think we all know where styling inspiration for the 80's Honda CRX came from... somehow they lost the sex appeal though
Thanks for sharing, some amazing examples on the other side of the barren desert

Here's a pic of the Zagato after I converted it left to right.
It is also the car that appears in one of the English books on the Guilia's before it came to Australia. (Might be the Tipler book, can't remember exactly).
Come to think of it my wife won Peoples Choice one year (2001?) at Auto Italia Canberra with it.
It's a very nice ride indeed!

We used parts from a rusted Berlina. Steering box, idler arm brake lines ect. The wiring loom just moved over to the right side. I unpicked and repositioned the steering column support and floor mounted pedals and hand fabricated the dash using some of the original shapes around the instruments ect. It is a painted finish dash as I remember with a padded top. A pretty easy, straight forward job.
