the bridge
very cools pics.
I was fortunate enough to drive there with COM in the early 90's in my GTV6. In fact, I have fond memories of driving there during Tropical Storm Danielle!

I'll look but I'm pretty sure there are none of #3. I have some other slides to go thru and I see what else is there. The mid-70's were the start of my Corvette interest so I shot more of those than I did Alfa's. Bridgehampton was cool because of the easy Paddock access. I even saw Billy Joel there when I first took my wife (pre-marriage) there in the late 70's. He came in on a Harley. He wasn't as well known then as he is now. I'm saying this because I remember the loudspeaker announcer saying "The Piano man is here today" and I didn't know WTF he was talking about. Joel appeared all pissed off that the announcement was made because he made hand jestures indicating in other words "don't bother me." He did though autograph a brown lunch bag we had.

The 5 car looks just like a car that was on e-bay a few years ago. The car was a real rust bucket, without engine or trans, but the owner wanted $5k since the car came with a logbook and old tech stickers.
Anyone else remember that car being sold?

Yeah, I was blessed back in the day and drove quite a few different vehicles on that track. Eventually became an instructor there for a local car club. The downhill at the end of the straight was where whole seconds could be shaved off a lap time IF one had the, hmmm... courage to keep their foot planted. Thing is, the downhill kink could not be seen from the straight until you where almost to it!
Car that was the most fun? (and the most workout) - Montreal
Scariest - LT1 Corvette
Fastest - 240Z with a hi-po Chevy 302
Never did quite get the knack of going round the carousel without smoking the inside rear on an open reared Alfa though.

Bridgehampton photos
If you happen to come across a picture of a blue 240Z car, C-production, number 16, I would love to have a copy. We raced against Newman for years, both there and the NER SCCA National circuit. The car was originally blue in the early days, later changed to white, when we swicthed to GT-2.

I ended up with that "rust bucket" It's a cool car that was put together by Gary Rutherford for him and Dave Ammen. It was a race car right from day one- first year as CS (as depicted) w/ a 1300 then one year EP with a 1600 then many years (and logbooks) as a BS still w/ the 1600. Ended it's career as a GT 3 car- last raced 1983. All owners known and really not that rusty but needs alot of bodywork to put back to late 60s BS configuration. Ran at Bridgehampton many times according to the logbooks. Will pay for any period photos people may have of this car- next year we want to run some races back east with it.

#5 Gtv
Fred,
I may have a photo of your GTV at Thompson, CT in 1976. I think it was owned by a driver from CT named Joe Schiben - something? I'll check my boxes of racing photos and let you know.
You bought #5 from Bruce Fernie, right? In 1974 I bought my first Alfa, a G-Prod Giulietta Spider, from Bruce's father, John. The Alfa world is small.

I didn't look into the car too much, so sorry if my "rust bucket" term was offensive. But do you think it's the same car? Adds some more to the history, no doubt.
The pictures I saw didn't show too many major body changes- how much was altered?
One more question- how did you set the car back to? 1300 CS, 1600 BS, or 2000? Love to see some up to date pictures of the car!

Anyone see a similarity of the dark colored GTA on the right in the first picture and the ex-Lee Midgley GTA in Roman Tucker's garage?

I'll look. At that particular 1975 (or '76?) SCCA National race, I met up with and camped next to a group of guys with a 240Z racing under the name of "Team Effort Racing." Not you, was it?
