I'm really impressed with teenagers that are into Alfa Romeo... must be hard, given most young people are into Jap cars...

As a 17 yr old kid, I once took my dad's GTV to school when he was on holiday.
Got a hell of a spanking when he found out.

Me too...but I had a crappy '67 and a '69 Triumph Spitfire during my HS years. Great memories of things like turning on the wipers during an evening shower, and having the lights go out!

People in Ireland think Alfa are dirt normally and that JDM cars are like gods.
But then the hypocrits nearly wet themselves when they see a Ferrari and a Lambo or anything thats mad Italian exotica

This is a great idea. I need to take my camera to school one day and park next to the trucks that park there. Most of my school is either big trucks or BMWs. I am the only Alfa driver and proud of it. Well I'm the only one that knows how to pronounce it for that matter.

Yep, i had the only Alfa in my high school. Probably the second oldest car too from memory. There was an chrome bumper MG.. that blew a lot of smoke!
If you wanted a cool car in Vancouver BC at the time you had a hotted up Golf GTi, Carrado or a Jetta. Bimmers were popular too, but the E30 bimmers were still a bit too pricey for most.
My friend had a heavily modified '85 Gold GTi with a VR6 conversion, show car quality. And when i bought my '79 Alfetta GTV people said they liked it more than his GTi.. and he wasnt very happy about that!

My Verde
Hmm i don't have any pics of the alfa from high school but I did drive it there everyday. Got it when i turned 16 and i'm now 20 and in college still driving it around as my daily driver! Wasn't the only Alfa there though. You had to know the Rimicci brothers would drive alfas too!
I just found this pic of my car today thought i'de just post it; not in the parking lot of school but it's in my driveway.

The first time I took my Alfa to school, all my friends came over to check it out, quite a crowd. So when I got in to turn it on and rev it for everyone, the f*cking thing wouldn't start up. Pretty embarassing after I had talked it up so much. But then when a friend of mine in his "racer" civic (automatic transmission, carbon fiber hood, and "wicked" sound system) challenged me to a race and got burned, the laughing stopped.
No pics, sorry. I'll catch some of me on campus here at college when it warms up, so sometime in august of next year.

I drove a '47 Dodge my senior year in HS - 1964
About the furthest you can get from an Alfa
