My "Bobcor" Spider

Since she is starting to look better, I thought itīd be a good idea to share my progress with you guys (This forum has helped me a LOT)..

ī76 spider modified by Bobcor in 1984.

Modifications by Bobcor:

High compression 2 litre engine with euro cams, Webers and some head work done. BWA Milano wheels, roll bar, recaro seats and vitaloni turbo baby mirrors. Change of colour to Bobcor yellow (AR129)alfa stickers, and Niki Lauda spoiler.

Modifications by me:

Euro lights, getting rid of US bumpers, side markers, and the spoiler. New paint and top. Adding Euro center heart, vitaloni sebring mirror and a chrome bumper of a suprising origin.

Here are some pictures..

Nice progress. It looks like a different shade of yellow in the last picture. Was it repainted? Is the rear bumper from a GTV?

The crome side trim is gone too. Nice. Looks better w/out the front US bumber. Is it going to stay that way?

The car is going to stay on that spec for a while. The bumper modification reduced the weight of the car by 65 kg (about 6% of the total weight!), and looks a lot better than the US bumpers. You could definately feel the performance difference before and after. The car was repainted (You canīt see it too well, but in the top pictures it has several different shades of yellow..) . Unfortunanately, not all cameras are created equal, so the shade closest to correct one is in the picture where there are people around the car(Nipper, thanks for your comments anyways..).

The rear bumper is from Lada 1500 (Soviet made, Fiat 124 based car), which I bought NOS for 60 euros. Fits perfectly.
