There are a lot of people here who have pictures of Alfa's racing in the Trans Am series. Let's post all the pictures we can find here on this thread. Here are just a few of what I have. I need to scan more.

Great fun to see the old Laguna Seca shots. I spent a weekend there watching Formula 5000 races in '71. A cousin of mine was (at the time) married to Skip Barber who was racing then. Prior to that I had been to SCCA events at Cotati and hillclimbs in Idaho and Washington state in the early sixties (stretching the memory cells a bit).

Makes me want to go to the track . . . now! George

As I remember the story, Businello was supposed to be Rindt's co-driver; however, after the shunt in practice Jochen would let him back in the car so he drove the entire 4-hour race himself.

I believe, but I'm not certain, that the Rindt car above is now in the UK, owned by a leading Bugatti specialist. The car I'm thinking of was on the race card at the Goodwood Revival this year, but did not race. It has an all-alloy floor.

Small word. Ed Wachs just announced a two car Champ Car Atlantic team for next year
:D
Anthony, have you been in contact with Ed Wachs? He shows up in the T/A days in various GTAs. Both LHD and RHD. Wonder if he has any S/Ns recorded? or other GTA racer identifing info.

Regards

Ken

Yes, i have that picture too. I would sure like to know how these 2L motors are prepared. Any thoughts? Would be neat to see these cars on the dyno.

Is the fire wall modified in Shelly's car? In the photo above the valve covers on Jon's car seem to have litttle clearance.

Yeah, the firewall is there. At Coronado the two cars were paked and a bunch of us (Shelly included) were looking at that after my dad noticed it.

Anyone else have any more Alfa Trans Am pictures?
