TransAm Grid @ SOVREN's Spring Sprints
SOVREN ran an under 2L TransAm grid at their Spring Sprints last weekend. They had a nice mix of GTVs, 911s, 2002s, 510s, and a Cortina. I've posted some pictures here. Mostly the Alfas but I'll get some others up. Keep checking back.

for a local CT photog from that era try to track down a feloow by the name of Barry Tenin, I believe now a dentist (maybe retired) in the New haven area(?) if you do track him down tell him that Griff from Mitch Coll says hello, long time... (year, that's why I answer to Griffo)

I was just over by Knauz near Lake Forest. They have a display with the
AUSCA Duetto and all the Trams Am championship trophy's . Larry Ogle gave me a small tour. They have several other vintage alfa's on display. I hope they bring a trophy with to the Alfa Club Chicago Convention this year.

Lee Midgley GTA
Hey guys,
I need the year and serial # of Roman Tucker's ex-Lee Midgley GTA. Can someone help please? Roman is really busy right now and it will probably take him a long time to get back to me. Thanks.

The AUSCA Spider didn't run in the actual Trans Am, did it? Says EP on the car, and TA was just for "sedans." I realize the connection with Kwech, etc., but wonder if it ran in other than SCCA Prod categories.

I think it only ran in E production. The only reason I brought it up was
that I saw it sitting in front of the Knauz Trans Am Trophy case. It also
was built up by AUSCA with a large amount of Trans Am GTA parts.
Cant wait to see the AUSCA Duetto's and AUSCA GTA's sitting next to each other at the convention(with trophys)!!
best,

Was the red head an AUSCA common practice?

If we combine the pics from posts 13,364 and 365 together with these, we get a progression of the race and Jochen Rindt's winning performance. All the more remarkable when one examines the damage that #36 suffered from the rollover earlier that week.
That car was a wreck! Little wonder that ALFA disposed of these GTA's after this victory; sold them off to those crazy enough to buy 'em.

I've never seen that pic of Rindt's roof before. Looks like mine before I had it replaced. It now hangs on the wall as "Garage Art".

Hi guys,
OK, I've got one for you! Does anyone know where those trophies went? Did Alfa get them for their office trophy case? I remember seeing some in El Segundo 30 years ago. I think that Engelwood Cliffs also had a trophy case in the upper showroom.

The same thought occured to me when viewing the AUSCA trophies.
Since ALFA financed the initial effort at Sebring it's likely the spoils followed the victors home. That is, if they bothered to pack them after abandoning the U.S. market.
