Hi
Dumb question!! Aren't the captions backwards? I think that Winkler/VanderVate typically ran #27. I think that there 66 car is now owned by Scott Gray and should be LHD. If so, is the #32 really Richards/Alderman and where did it go?
Is it for instance the Baker&Hein car from Vt that later became the Gaston Andrey car, which would make it Ken G's 752507?? I'm the new guy, so don't pick on me if I'm wrong!
Keith
Hey Keith and others, I think #32 at Marlboro 1966 is indeed GTA 752507. See that the front paint identifiers on #42, 752507 from VIR 1966 are the same as the #32 at Marboro 1966. Note the white stripe across the hood and the 3 triangular flashes at the bumper line. Perhaps there was a numbering conflict with one of the other racers as Richards had used #42 at both Sebring and VIR. There are more pics of #42 at the VIR web site. edit: I had un-referenced notes elsewhere indicating Richards/Alderman on #32 at Marlboro.
Thanks Roger for posting the above 2 previous unknown, to me, pics of 752507.
Ciao
Ken

Hi Ken,
The #3 car went to John Sampson/Rueben Romero{Samero Racing}. I saw it at Ontario, Ca. in an IMSA race when the Bobcor Montreal was being run. It eventually went to Camelot Historics for a resto and then to Sam Cummings in Mi. Roman re-restored it more correctly and takes care of it. It is the the orange one. The blue#4 went to Oskar Feldman, head mechanic for Gaston Andrey. It sold to the West Coast a few years ago and was featured in a Road & Track article. I'm sure that someone can fill in much more than what I know.
Attached is a photo that I just found. It was taken at Lime Rock in Sept 1990 at the Vintage Fall Festival. Black #36 is my 752573 in it's last Mecca configuration.
I threw it back together for a few vintage races, but never liked it's 1983 SCCA looks. The red #32 is Roman's first GTA, a European car with no T/A history. He sold it to buy the Midgely car.

I've got new photos coming in a week or so.
Hi
In answer to post#405, refering to the photo in 399, I actually answered it in #403, but here is the photo of the rear quick lift "bumper" from the FIA papers in the Alleggerita book. There may also be a photo of it on cars in the Spa 24 hr race, shown in the same book.

Hi. The Bill Winn store was my dad's (Jack Becronis); he sold tailored gentlemen's clothing from his store in San Marino, CA. Dad passed in '93. Bill Winnie was a different person, though the names are so close it's no wonder there's a bit of confusion Dad sponsored Dave as a courtesy gesture.
I'd love a photo of the car sporting it's Bill Winn sponsorship if anyone has one.

That sounds about right for those two cars. The third car was sold to Joe Cannone (who also prepped the #3 car for Samson/Romero) of Tarzana, CA. He and his partner, Jim Newman ran it in IMSA. Newman crashed the car pretty hard at Riverside in 1975. According to my dad who was working for Cannone at the time, the left front wheel was under the door. My dad cut up the car and saved all the parts. I still have the original fiberglass seat. I'll post pictures of the car and the seat over the weekend.

Hi
I think that I saw a note about this somewhere, but how do you easily scan slides?
I just got boxes of photos and slides from my attic. I have a lot of pics from the Alfa Pacifica convention in 1975. There was a bare aluminum GTA there which I had seen at the Alfa Dealer in Redondo Beach the previous day. "Beach Imports", perhaps. It had a black Cal plate "GTA 33". Any idea who owned it then and who owns it now? If I can figure out scanning, I can show 5-6 pics of it and lots more.

Keith,
I believe that's our car! For many years, Charlie drove it around in bare aluminum. Before the current AR GTA plates, the plates read "GTA 33". Double check the plate color. Personal plates we're available here in CA until the blue ones came out. How can I get prints of these slides from you? The picture below was taken by Carmen Porto in 1985 as the restoration was being completed.
