I bought a Berlina 4-5 years ago from a Tom Himes in Phoenix. Not the same guy? He didn't mention a GTA past. I might be able to dig up contact info.

Tom HINES is from Pasadena, CA. He's a big guy, around 6'2". Probably close to 60 years old. This Tom Hines probably wouldn't own a Berlina, ever. LOL He took me for a ride in a stock GTV, in the early seventies, from Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena to downtown Culver City in 15 minutes. The ride included drifting onto the freeway and speeds up to over 100mph. All during the mid-morning traffic.

#25 Chassis details

Hi All

In Late 1972, GTA 752507, #25 in BOBCOR livery, appears with the rear bumper shown in the first 2 pics painted black. Can any one identify this bumper. Note that it is shorter on the side length than stock as shown on 333 and in the third pic.

Earlier in the year she is pictured, third pic, running standard SS bumpers rear and front.

Also opinions on the rear lights would be appreciated. I think the left is metal base and the right is all plastic.

Also opinions on the usage of the protuberance to the left of the right rear light. I have this part and it is an approx. 3/4" OD tube 3" long brazed to a sheet metal plate with rubber slip over cap. It may be a tank vent.

Any other comments, except on the flares which need none, except on how to tastefully replace.

edit: The first picture(#25 rear View) was taken by Frank Salemi in July 1972 at Bobcor Buffalo (Williamsville)

Regards

Ken

Perhaps a Giulia sedan rear bumper without the overriders?

no, that car on ebay was purchased by Bobcor from a racer in LA and then repainted to look like the original Trans Am car.

Andrew,

I like that. Possiblly a bolt right on and an Alfa part to boot. Is it a bolt on?

And now I may need one.

Ciao

Yes, if it's a Giulia bumper it has two studs that go through the body under the trunk floor, in the same manner a GTV bumper attaches. If the distance between the two stud holes isn't the same as on a GTV, I wonder if the bumper was narrowed/lengthened?

Still, with the bumper painted black, it's pretty hard to be sure what it is. Giulia bumper have scalloping on the lower part.

Now that I look again, I think I see the scalloping in the rear parked view. I'll bet that's what it is.
