I don't have any old shots, but here are a couple of the slug at Sears Pt. The motto should be "It's not a victory unless you start last"!

Anthony,
You are correct. I took those shots at Mount Tremblant during the 1969 Trans-Am (the year of the big pile up).

Have you ever looked at the motor on Jon Norman's car? It's mounted a lot closer to the front than a stock one. Then you look at Shelly Zide's ex-Wetson car and the motor is practically against the fire wall. Which one is better?

Is the fire wall modified in Shelly's car? In the photo above the valve covers on Jon's car seem to have litttle clearance.

Yes, i have that picture too. I would sure like to know how these 2L motors are prepared. Any thoughts? Would be neat to see these cars on the dyno.

Yeah, the firewall is there. At Coronado the two cars were paked and a bunch of us (Shelly included) were looking at that after my dad noticed it.
Anyone else have any more Alfa Trans Am pictures?

So if the motor is close to the fire wall in Jon's car, and it is further back in Shelly's; does that mean that Shelly's fire wall has been relocated further back in the car? - George

We all came to the agreement that Jon's motor is moved forward and Shelly's is moved back. I read somewhere that the Wetson cars had the motors moved back. Just wondering why Jon's is pushed forward? With all the development that's gone into the car, I am sure there is a good reason for it.

I am guessing the answer may be seen in the photo of Bert Everett at Mid Ohio in 1970. Keep the inside front corner down. - George
