New wheels on my Alfetta!

Just got these the other week, 18" Diablo Racer wheels 7.5" wide, 215/35/18 tires

May not be to everyones tastes but they where a cheap package deal and this is my daily driver, gives it a nice super touring look They dont rub at all either!

GoldCloverLeaf,

Looks like you have nice & clean Benz too!! The car caught my eyes just because I happen to own '71 300SEL 6.3 !!

It seems that you have great taste on choice of wheels (I love wheels on your GTV!!)!! Were the wheels on alfetta available with 4 X 98mm, or did you have to have them modified?

I test drove a 300SEL 6.3 prepped by the factory Racing Dept ( Rennabteiliung ) for the Touring Car 24hrs at Spa back in 71, when I worked for Mercedes-Benz of North America. I snuck it out of the garage onto the streets of Manhattan no less. The most frighteningly fast ride of my life, and very enjoyable I might add. I hope yours is in good shape.

You mean that orange car with huge flares and ronal wheels??

I assume that the car you drove had manual transmission... Even my car with automatic trans (but with Euro-spec higher compression pistons) is dangerously fast!! I can't even imagine acceleration of the race-prepped car (lighter, more powerful, and stick shift!!!)...

Engine/rear end has been professionally rebuilt ($$$$$$$$ I had my mom pay for it) and bodywork/paint is done, but transmission has seen better days, so is the leather interior... The car resides in Japan right now and hardly got driven because of gas price ($5 per gallon for premium).

Well I should stop right here, before I end up hijacking the thread...

Gunmetal_GTV - I'm not sure if the wheels come in 4x98, my Alfetta has a 5 stud 5x98 conversion, no spacers needed with these wheels, got em at Tempe Tyres for $1300AUD with Nankang Ts2 Tires

I would love to have a a 6.3, or even a 3.5, but mines a 250s with a 280s twincarb motor.

It's a very impressive, solid car - sometimes i wish Alfas were built as solid! - but heavy... almost 2 tons!

It's currently for sale if anyone is interested

Details at http://carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_vehicle?vehicle_id=2642999&cur rent_rec=1&used_rec=0&total_rec=2&sort_type=&total _rec=2&sort_type=&make_id=12&model_id=1912&state_i d=-1&search_distance=25
