GTV performance upgrade!
Well...it all officially started last night...the plasma cutter came out, and the cutting begain....
here's the finished product:
And now...whats all this for? Well...I got bored with that tiny 2L...and this place had a great deal on new Chevy engines...so I got myself a Vortec! Just making room for the Chevy tranny...
Next time I'll get pics when we start rebuilding the tranny tunnel, to fit that big ol Chevy tranny...

Gotta love it. Maybe my wife will let me buy a GTV as long as it has a Vortec and working AC.

Killer is the right word ... just try not to understeer your way into the scenery at the first curve with all that weight up front! I think you're nuts, but good luck anyway!!!

Wow, I was thinking about buying a clapped out GTV and throwing a modern Ford Zetech in it with a 6 speed gear box, but I thought that would be too heretical. Plus, I a have nowhere near the mechanical ability to perform such a feat. But, there is a Ford Cortina on e-bay right now. How sweet would that be? I'd call it a Zetec Cortina.
I appreciate the fact that there is space for "anything goes" here on the bb.

Anyone know where I can get a small block Chevy for my TI? The stupid 1600 engine has 1750 pistons and a crank from a TZ.

I'm with Anthony on this one...Is it April again?
I'm glad your making progress on getting the Alfa back on the road.
Cover up the glass when you start welding, good luck.

I'm sure it will be fast... but so much for that infamous Alfa growel. Will this sound like a Mustang?
