He forgave me, in the spirit of forgiving a hapless imbecile kid.

In NY, there's a strange phenomenon whereby a lot of Italian Restaurants are Croatian owned. Is this true in LA?

Thanks Damian, I'm glad I'm not the only one too. I'm always checking her out in windows. I even dig seeing her reflection in SUV tailgaits.

Actually it was a coincidence. Didn't realize it until I downloaded the picture to my PC.

The pictures of your car brought back the memory of when I bought my '67 GTV 20 years ago, from the original owner. The car was white like yours and had the same rear-view mirror. It also had the same radio antenna, though on the right rear fender. Does your car have the European steering wheel lock, as mine does? My guy bought the car in Italy, drove it around Europe, then brought it home to San Jose, California. He cried when I drove it away in 1983. The car still lives with me in the Bay Area, but it's now 501 red and has many performance updates. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Hey Gary, welcome to AlfaBB!
At first, you had me thinking that we shared the same GTV. I recently removed the Talbot mirror and sold it on eBay. I actually missed it for a month after removing it. I was always looking at the fender when changing lanes. Fortunately I have adjusted to the Alfa repro mirror I mounted on the door. I really dislike that antenna. It should be mounted on an old RV complete with a "Good Sam Club" sticker. I can't believe that this type of mirror was mounted in Europe!
I wish I had a steering wheel lock! My GTV was first sold in Germany. The original owner brought it over in 1995. The second owner had her for five years in the Bay area and then for two years in Portland. Fortunately he never registered her up in Oregon so I got to keep the black CA plates. Although, I had to fight the CA DMV for them.
I understand about the previous owner of your GTV crying. I felt that way when my Spider drove off with its new owner. Hell, I felt that way the other day when I let some muffler jockey drive my GTV up onto their lift. Stupid f**ker couldn't get it into reverse even after I showed him how to do it several times. "Push the stick shift down and then go into reverse!" I will NEVER let anyone like that drive my GTV again!!!
My GTV is still bone stock. The only upgrades I am thinking of are some stiffer lower springs. One of these days.
Let's see some pictures of your '67 Gary! I wanna drool...

Hi Kai:
This link has some shots of my car that were taken a year ago:
http://pages.sbcglobal.net/garywilliams/
At the moment it is sitting on jack stands in my garage, weeks away from receiving its new 2 litre motor and a late-model transmission with lightened gears. The motor has a big-valve, ported head with Megacycle cams; a Paul Spruell aluminum flywheel; Spruell headers, 10.4:1 pistons, new Weber 45's with TWM Induction ram horns, and a few other tricks. Best guesses for flywheel horsepower range from 155 to 175. We'll see when it gets on a dyno for final tuning.
Since taking the photos on the web site, the car received a "fast road suspension" from Alfaholics, which I highly recommend for all who want a good combination of road and track handling; a '69 pedal box so I can use a hydraulic clutch with the new tranny; Milano front brakes (Brembo) and vented rotors; and late-model rear calipers with stock rotors. The engine compartment is newly painted, the fuse block is now under the dash, the horns and alarm siren are under the front fenders near the headlights, and it has a lot other new bits and pieces I can't recall at the moment.
Can't wait to get it running again.

Gary,
Your '67 GTV looks awesome! I enjoyed perusing through your website. Still got the levitating GTC?
Do you have larger versions of those pictures that you could email to me? I'm always looking to expand my photo collection. Please post some pictures here too.
I never met a GTV that had all three generations of engines installed. 1600, 1750 and now 2-liter.

The GTC was sold several years ago. Don't know where it is now. Sorry, but I don't have any good GTV photos to share at the moment. When the 2 litre goes in, I'll take some new shots.

When the time comes, how about posting some engine transplant photos?

My baby just celebrated a milestone, er kilostone. She just turned over 133,000 kilometers (82,460 miles)!
I discovered a bit of a tipo plate mystery. While my VIN corresponds with the GTV being a 105.36 model type, the plate contradicts itself! Anyone know why my VIN indicates that she's a 105.36 yet the plate says 105.02??
And isn't there another contradiction in the vehicle weight? Total weight = 1,360 kgs. yet the other figures add up to 1,380 kgs.? What are the other figures? Front and rear weight? Left and right weight? (j/k)
Pretty cool German plate, eh?
