Wow...that one is very nice. Engine bay extremely clean and fresh. Congrats on a job well done.

What type of rear muffler do you have on her? Is that a later series 3/4 stock rear or the equivalent? Or is it something else? Reason I am asking...I am going to replace my dual tip ansa on my 78 w/ bumper conversion and by looking at yours...I think I am looking at how it will look on mine.

Best Regards,
John M

My Blue Spider

Wow, Thankyou Gentlemen!
Basking in my moment of glory...
Here are a few more pictures that are worth a thousand words!

To answer your questions...I cannot take the credit for the way she looks totally... I have just built on what the previous owner did!
The paint is at least 5 years old... it was done before I bought the car in spring of 2000. The previous owner says it was done before he owned it... another 5 years or so... so I guess the paint is 10 years old!
She shows 68k and I have done about 3k since I have had her.

The muffler is an ANSA single tip. It sticks out to far for my liking and scrapes a little too much!

It actually got quieter since I put that on. Its hitting the upper A arm somehow on bumps too... I have yet to figure out why!

Plans for the next few weeks is to retrim the seats and doortrims. Also I am in process of getting the Factory Hardtop I just acquired, retrimmed.
I just bought a parts car that had that on it, plus 5 better wheels that I will have blasted and refinished (three of mine are kerbed/damaged and all of them leak air and have tubes in).

I think a set of Panasports would really make her hotter!

On a sad note... here is the Parts car I bought. Still it will live on!

Old Alfa's NEVER die... they just return to the earth or are recycled through the ALFA BB!

Keyspider,
That's great! As a GTV nerd, let me express my complete ignorance on Spiders and ask..(ack)... what year is your Spider and is it a USA or euro version?

Darn, your USA spec front and rear side blinkers are much better looking than what came on the '74 GTV ...
Very nice, congrats, hope to see it at the Italian and French auto show in Van Nuys (when is it.. November?) if you are in the southern california area

GORGEOUS Spider! I haven't seen a blue one before...

Love the engine bay- so simple and neat, even compared to my '86.

Well, Thanks for the nice comments!
The engine bay will look better when I get around to:
1/ Routing the ignition wires properly.
2/ Put another battery in.... the Optima is awesome, but looks wrong to me! I wish they made it in black... but it doesnt seem to mind the long perods of inactivity! I had got through two others in 5 years.
3/ Replace the battery tray.
4/ Get a washer bottle!
5/ clean up the water marks and rust when I left it wet after I washed down the engine bay six months ago... grrr!
You know, I see so many things wrong with her still. I need to replace the rubber bumper stops that are damaged for one thing, but maybe I am just too critical!

Awesome Spider there Key! 74's are among the most desireable Spiders, not just for the CA smog exemption rule. It's them lovely SS bumpers too. And what a great looking, uncommon color! Makes me pine for my long gone Spiders. I also hope to see her at the Best of France & Italy car show.

Sidebar: Since most of us AlfaBBers don't have any offical decals, we should print out full page AlfaBB logos to place on our dashboards. If we can't all park together, at least we can show our colors!

Does the car have a burgundy interior? That's a sharp combination -- and very unusual.
