who said it's hard changing and balancing motorcycle tires.
Now, I don't think I can use the same method for putting the new tire on, can I .

Lowmileage,
Is that bike an early 70s Honda 750Four?
Nice bike. I really like the bikes of that era.
What happened to the tire?

1975 "750" Four
The tire was a *itch to get off with tire irons and I didn't want to bugger up the rim so I cut the SOB off. Bike was in storage since '83 and I need new tires. Thanks

I had a 1978 black supersport 750 for several years, last of the early 750's. Wish I had it now ...

Thought I'd post this picture taken 9th April this year, the day the rear axle stood on a garage floor for the first time since late 1972. The rebuild is nearing completion and the axle's going back on the car on Monday. Looks crappy, doesn't it?
I have no idea how many hours I spent, but here's what I've done:
- Grinded, scraped and washed off gunk, crud and goo everywhere (lots left on the diff housing though)
- New oil seals
- New outer bearings
- New nylocs and washers all around
- Replaced hand brake cable
- Two layers of rust primer in every nook and cranny
- Two layers of semi gloss black top coat likewise
- Completely rebuilt hand brake assembly
- Removed differential sump fin, cleaned out sludge and replaced gasket
- Every bolt and screw washed and cleaned up
- Anti seize on (almost) every thread, with torque adjusted in accordance
Both the primer and the top coat have dried and cured and is ready for the road (I hope). My GF thinks I'm nuts, and when I see this picture I'm not so sure I'm not
Sorry for the picture quality. It's probably the world's crappiest digital camera ...

You are going to look great running Greg's "old" car at PIR -
It had some wonderful times at Pacific/Seattle Int'l and will enjoy many more down south. Very cool that it stayed in the PNW.
