Yes, I was lucky and was able to keep the Dutch plates when I picked up the car. Both 500s are from Holland. My mom was born in Amsterdam and we visit every summer. Tot ziens!

Not as cool as your garage, but it keeps the cars outta the sun and away from the neighborhood kids play ball in the street every day!

Hey Anthony, how does the ferrari compare to alfas in terms of driving experience? I have never driven a ferrari of any kind so I was wondering if explaining an alfa as "a poor man's Ferrari" would be accurate?
Thanks

Man I hate that analogy. Many people think we own Alfa Romeo just because we cannot afford a Ferrari ... and I say they each have their own charm.
Personally if that is the reason anybody owns an Alfa Romeo, then that is sad ... read the history and enjoy your car for what it is.

There's a long thread with essentially the same title here.

I've merged the two thread together to make it easier. Keep posting everyone. I know there are new garages here as well as the same ones but with different cars!
Grant and Murray,
The Ferrari and GTA are two completely different experiences. The Ferrari is pretty tame. You know the power is there but respect it and don't use it all the time. It's more of a highway car. Driving it in the street isn't bad either, but you can't flog it around the corner like you can with the GTA. On the other hand, the GTA is a real kick in the pants. When you drive it, you are constantly looking for corners to slide through. The Ferrari has more mid range so it more practical to drive on the street where the GTA lived after 5000 rpm. In the end, they are two very different cars, but deliver the same smile each time you turn the key and go.

It was built to suit the width of the cars back then....... consequently I can get my 164 into the garage but I would then have to spend the night in the car since I couldnt open the doors!

And that's a bad thing? Great garage and cars and posters. Wanna adopt me?

Here's my garage.
It's pretty small, but there is space enough to work in it if you are creative. San Francisco ya know, we are actually pretty lucky to have a private garage and not just a space.

I see you regularly use those tricky "Long Neck" tools in conjunction with the "Long Stem" ones. Nicely done.

Beer and workin on cars goes hand in hand. I think it reduces the level of profanity too.
