Beatle's 'new' GTV6
After a difficult and exhausting week of searching , today I purchased a GTV6. Yet to see it in the flesh (3600kms away) however I'm confident I got a decent car at a good price.
From the pics she looks a bit too red but I think judicious application of some black highlights (or paint removal) should set things right and de-bling the aesthetics more in keeping with a gentleman's carraige (cough cough).
1983 VIN: ZAR116 C0003003070.

hahahahahahahaha, you live in Katherine and bought a car from Lance Dixon!?!? hahahahahaha!!
Now that I've got that out of my system, that is a nice vehicle. Yes, I can see past the bling (if I can capture it one day there's a gorgeous GTV6 near my work that is probably what you have in mind - sort of minimal-looking, which makes it look almost menacing). Congrats, I bet you're looking forward to the drive home.
Cheers

che bella! i kinda like the monochrome look, but i can understand how a 'gentleman' such as yourself would want a much more sedate conveyence. 'cough' 'cough'.
she really looks great. good luck with her. and if you ever tire of her, feel free to ship her to me in the US.

Nice. I agree...lower, a black grille, maybe the bumper strips, and some more wheel and tire to fit the flairs.
Good luck!

Thanks for the complimets!!
The really red car has the Zender body kit, like my blue car that's about to become a race/track car... As soon as me and Pete my partner in this venture(not on the board yet). get a little closer to the build start, we'll post in progress pictures and more info.
Cheers, Nick

You gotta tell me, did you find those great matching backdrops in the city or are they the same loading dock photoshopped?

It's the loading dock next to the red one... On 27th Street and 12th Ave.

If you *have* to paint/depaint anything, in my opinion just blackening the grille will make it look a bit more sedate. That's assuming you really want to do it.
Looks nice

Nicke,
the photo's of your red car were partially responsible for my remembering just how much I like the look of the Alfetta coupes, and subsequently purchasing my GTV6. The blue wasn't available here in Australia (neither was green) but it looks sensational, and your eye for photographic composition and colour is great (to a layman at least).
On your red car I notice you have some kinda black trim on the edges of the wheelarches. Could you take a closeup for me ?
Is it a beaded edge which is glued in place or is it pressed over the lip ?
