I love Europe, was born there, lived there for about 17 years, both as a child and as an adult, and it has gotten way too expensive. I've lived in 3 countries in Europe and visited half a dozen more, and they're all that way. If you go far enough south in Italy, it's not quite so expensive, but overall, the EU has jacked up prices on everything. The Germans call the Euro the "Teuro", a pun on "teuer", meaning expensive. Some stores simply changed the prices from Deutschmarks to Euro without changing the amount, claiming that they had to do that to recoup the cost of changing all the signs, which is bullsh*t since they constantly change price signs anyway. Like I said, I love Europe, but I can't see halfing my standard of living for the priviledge of living there. Besides, there are lots of places in Canada and the US that give Europe a run for it's money once you get over the "let's hate America" attitude. Sorry about the rant, it's only my opinion. Europe's a great place to visit...
