Several years ago, Automobile magazine gave the 156 it's annual design award. The award is given to a car that is sold in the US that exemplifies the best in automotive design. The editors thought the 156 was such a great design, they made an exception and gave it the award, even though it was not sold in the US. In the article, they discussed alot of the design cues and features of the 156. I think the car is pure genius.

joee, thanks for posting these great pics and reminding us how great the new Alfas are, for those of us who aren't exposed to the new stuff, we sometimes forget as we pine nostalgically over vintage Alfas.

Reason #3 (first being the Brera and second the 159) why I will be moving to Europe.

I've lived in Europe, it's an overrated experience. Especially when Alfas start arriving on our shores in 2007.

I was born and have lived in Europe for half of my life. To each his own I guess. Also, expecting Alfas here in 2007 is more than optimistic. I certainly hope you know something I don't though.

I like Europe; I lived there for a substantial portion of my life....but based on my trip last September to Paris, it's now VERY expensive to live there.

I love Europe, was born there, lived there for about 17 years, both as a child and as an adult, and it has gotten way too expensive. I've lived in 3 countries in Europe and visited half a dozen more, and they're all that way. If you go far enough south in Italy, it's not quite so expensive, but overall, the EU has jacked up prices on everything. The Germans call the Euro the "Teuro", a pun on "teuer", meaning expensive. Some stores simply changed the prices from Deutschmarks to Euro without changing the amount, claiming that they had to do that to recoup the cost of changing all the signs, which is bullsh*t since they constantly change price signs anyway. Like I said, I love Europe, but I can't see halfing my standard of living for the priviledge of living there. Besides, there are lots of places in Canada and the US that give Europe a run for it's money once you get over the "let's hate America" attitude. Sorry about the rant, it's only my opinion. Europe's a great place to visit...

If you want Alfa's but don't like Europe, come to Australia... and we don't have so many crap SUVs on the roads either... and even GM sells decent cars here... LOL Its true!! Imagine that, a decent car from General Motors...
