"Marqueen Garage" 105 GTV

Hello all

Can anyone tell me whats the lap times for the "marqueen garage" 105 GTV at Pacific Raceway TT? It was one of the quicker cars in group 2. Very impressive for a spica powered car. I couldnt find the drive that day. Any information on the car or owner would be very much apprieciated. Against what majority of alfisti people was tell me, I'm building a hot spica motor GTV myself. I was really discourage with the power and drivability untill I saw this one run on the track. There may be some hope yet.

Here are some pics of the motor. Looks like stock cast ex and intake manifold with standard airbox. It was pulling very very hard on long PR straights.

Thanks

davbert

The "marqueen garage" 105 GTV at Pacific Raceway TT belongs to Rico Chiarelli. Rico has just moved from Seattle to San Francisco. I'm sure he still had his cars in Seattle during the convention. Wes Ingram did the Spica and perhaps the motor. Most of the work on Rico's car has been done by Rico.

It's a Junior Z, the first car with a flux capacitor (which improved the Spica fuel pump tremendously). Because they couldn't get it for the "Back to the Future" movie trilogy, they dressed up a DeLoran for the part (the movie vehicle had to have American roots). I heard a Honda designer used the car as inspiration for the early '90s CRX.

Rico had a 1:51.291 which was very good for what seemed a bit of a slow track. Several NW Alfa Club members had times several seconds slower than what they posted at the Historics over the 4 of July weekend.
