I finally got a GTV !!!!!!
Well folks the long wait is over.
I was finally able to save up all my pennies and purchase a '74 GTV.
I don’t want to spoil it because I don’t actually have the car in my possession yet (left a deposit). But I just couldn’t wait till Thursday to post pictures which is when I’m supposed to pick her up and bring her home.
Here are a few until Thursday!!

Hurray!!! Good job Simon! Can't wait to see her get restored. And now you can post questions on your own forum! hehe.
The best of luck to you! Can't wait to see the finish.
Cheers.

Congratulations Simon!!! I've been driving them for 36 years, there's nothing like it.

I'm happy Simon got this car for his first Alfa, I don't think he could have found a better car to fix up and restore. There is not one dent on this one owner, 51K original mile car! The dash is incredible, all the trim is straight as an arrow and still shine under the dust. I can go on about this car. First thing I told him when I saw it was, "If you don't buy it, I'm going home with another GTV even if I don't have the room." Now, I just can't wait to get my hands on her and help Simon with the restoration!
This car has the ITALCARGUY seal of approval.

Simon,
Conratulations on finding a solid car to begin with and having a knowledgable friend like Anthony nearby.
I guess it's time to change your signature tomorrow...

Simon, this is great news, congratulations!! We can now officially welcome you into the group. I'm sure you'll find working on your GTV rewarding and frustrating and at times, a money pit.

Right now my plans are to go over all the mechanicals to make sure the basics are working. Then replace all the fluids and fire her up. After that my only plan is to drive the crap out of it until my next cash infusion.
Woooooooo Weeeeee! Cant wait to get her home and post a billion photos.

Excellent ... sure looks scary with the faded paint, but solidness, straightness and completeness are FAR more important .
Interestingly my car had similar painted on stripes ...
I will be interested to see the first photos POST a major clean (ie. steam clean, etc.). It will look miles better I imagine.
