It was originally a '78SC that I updated to a 964 body. The weight savings with all the fiberglass parts was great since the original SC bumpers were very heavy. If I were to do it over again I'd back date the look to a older 911RS look with a duck tail.

The car has been at Magnaflow for about 2 months now. It has been there to test fit the new SS exhaust system that is being produced. I have a new set of tires waiting here at home when it returns. I ended up buying 195x60's which should fit her nicely. I cant wait!!! I'll post more pics when shes got her new shoes on.
The last thing I did to the car before she left was cut the stock springs.

2 months Since Mario Andretti is advertising for them now, I saw fit to contact him. Here is his reply:
My dear Simon,
Quality is something that doesn’t come overnight. In any event, I’ll personally talk with the boys to move your project along.
All the best,

Last night I finally took this car for a spin in the hills with Simon. I'm happy to report he owns one of the best driving GTV's I've driven. The car is awesome!

Thats right, you can never judge a book by its cover! I once drove a very shabby GTV that drove like a champion and later on a drove a very very nice GTV that just didnt drive right at all for some reason.
It also looks like Simons car is very straight and rust free as well, an awesome find. I would much prefer the faded paintwork and an honest body than a shiny fresh paint job with unknown repairs hiding underneath.

I’ve been trying to get the car mechanically sound before I even think of putting any new paint on her. I was hoping that I can get it all sorted out and then enjoy driving it this summer. After this summer if finances are allowing I’ll think about some decent paint. Until then I’m happy just cutting up the turns on the local canyon roads.
The car has very little rust except for a few places. The passenger side floor is rotted all the way thru & it also has some rust under the rear quarter window trim that I discovered this weekend during a seal replacement. It also has a few small dime size spots around the window seals. Other then those few spots the car body and especial rockers are pristine.
Here are a few pics from a recent test run with her new tires (195/60's) & prototype MAGNAFLOW exhaust.

Simon:
What this car needs is an aluminum fly wheel and light weight clutch & T/O bearing!!!
Let me know your thoughts RE: $$$...
BTW: I've posted my pig polk; RE: our wagers (combined w/ Anthony's misplaced Eferian Jr. bet... Plus my customary $100... ROCK ON BB!!!

Simon,
I've been monitoring your progress closely since we're in similar situations, but alas, you've beaten me to the road!
She looks awesome. If you feel like driving to the Northeast US I know a paint shop with recent experience painting a GTV

So, Simon, are you going to drive it up to the AROSC event at Buttonwillow in a few weeks? Enquiring minds want to know!
