Alfetta Racer crashed...

Hi!

A month ago, me an my codriver were running the XI Rally de Ourense, a classic road rally event for Classic and Sport Cars. The route is on open roads and we have to absotutely respect the traffic rules.

Some nice pictures of the event here:

In the last special stage we had some arguments with one 'civil' car. The accident was in a very narrow road on a blind right corner. A black VW Polo was coming absolutly in the middle of the road. He turned right and I tried emergency braking but I only was able to avoid a frontal impact: We hit his rear left quarter corner.

The results: see the pictures attached. Not very good looking.

Now I've got some good second hand panels, and the rebuild will start this week at the panel shop. This weekend I dismantled all the front fittings (grille, spot lamps, lights....) and found no structural damage was done. Good luck. At the same time some minor rust spots and faults will be corrected, so we hope to have the car spot on and faultless in a couple of weeks or so, just ready for the next rally.

Best regards.

Just some more pics:
Two of them about the Aston style flip gas cap, a nice racy touch, I think. Comments are welcome!
