Well I was certainly out of the house, and out of my element, for this shot. My wife and I traveled to her hometown, Hakodate, last November. It's located on Hokkaido in Japan.

I was thrilled to have counted 12 Alfas on the road, during our week-long visit. Unfortunately, this is the only one that I got a picture of.

Next time, I will insist on taking the 3+ hour train ride to Sapporo, just so I can visit an Alfa Romeo dealership. BTW, my in-laws obtained some Alfa brochures through the local Audi/VW dealership for me.

P.S. Check out the Tokyo police messing with this Yakuza (Japanese mafia) guy. My wife was not happy with me for taking his picture.

I spotted what I believe to be a 164 this evening; it's the first one I've seen besides in pictures. It was a reddish burgundy color, and in very nice shape. I couldn't safely get close enough in traffic to bring my cheesy camera phone into action though! It was heading southbound on 880 just north of the 101 in San Jose, shortly after 7PM. Was it an AlfaBB member...?

6:45pm in Yale Loop in Woodbridge (the OC) was driving my 71 Berlina (burgundy)when I saw a red 74 GT, it appeared to be lowered with black trim and custom mags, sounded like it had webers. BB member? PS - the SS that recently sold on ebay for 30K(no personal financial interest) and featured in SCM appears to have been photographed by northlake in woodbridge, it was being sold by Moon Auto Sales, just up the street from my shoe repair shop in Santa Ana.

Funny thing about today. I spent most of the morning at Italian Car Fest in Grapevine. But my son had a football game in the afternoon well away from Grapevine. I was surprised to see a red or orange Spider parked by the fields. Before I could get a picture however it was gone. Hopefully I'll see it again.

During the Katrina evacuation from Louisiana to Texas I saw an Alfa in traffic in Houston; all the while wondering if mine would survive the storm in my garage in Thibodaux. After just finishing the restoration project a few months ago, I would have been quite upset if Mother Nature messed it up!

I got my airhorns from IAP a few years ago, but didn't get them installed in the GTV till just a few months ago. Boy it's fun to toot them, and they're not overly obnoxious sounding either! However, I usually resort to waving.

By the way, when I first met my wife, she was incredulous that Alfisti waved at each other, but she's come to accept it as a geeky thing that we fools do. Yesterday I tried to wave at another Subie 2.5 GT Legacy while driving my own, and she quickly pulled my arm down This raises a question: what other brands' owners wave at each other? I'd think Subie 2.5 GT's are unique enough, but apparently NOT!

Back to the original thread topic: I'm in the Santa Cruz, California area, and see a good number of Alfas (and truckloads of Subarus) on a daily basis. There's a nice black 164, always parked, on my way to the bank, while '74 Spiders are aplenty on Hwy 1. I've never seen a Milano in these parts though. I'd like to get my hands on a red one someday, and really soup it up.

When I moved to Mississippi from the Bay Area I was surprised to find that everybody waves to everybody else; a gesture of friendliness of the people there. This may have something to do with why I married a woman from Mississippi.

At today's "Battle of the Brits" car show in Sterling Heights, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit), there were several Alfas in the parking lot trying to steal the show, maybe. There was a black Series 4 Spider, a black GTV6 and a red 164.

There weren't many Italian cars in the actual show, however. I can't imagine why. There was a Fiat Spider, however.

I saw a really nice yellow 1750 GTV in a parking garage in San Jose on Friday evening. Man it was killer. Sorry I didn't snap any photos - no camara.

I have been spotted!! Rogerspeed came up next to me as the light was changing. He is correct that the car is lowered with aftermarket wheels and is running webers. The car is actually a 73 (AR 3021501). This is my first post as I have not got the digital camera to work and show the car!! (spent money on car)
