In the old "Foreign Cars of Suffolk" building

On Jericho Turnpike in Dix Hills (NY) Saturday afternoon. A red Spider in the showroom - just like in the ol' days.

Way back when in the early '70s I drove an MGA, my first car. At that time, all the sports car drivers waved at each other. There was this great feeling of shared experience that I don't see too much of any more.
I had the same experience with my MG Midget in the late 70's. Then in '02 when we got the new Mini Cooper, the same thing happened. By now there are new Mini's everywhere, so a lot less waving going on.

Congrats - You saw a Sud in the U.S.! The licence plate pretty much proves it.

Before the days of the internet - I saw a 116 Giulietta Sedan and an Alfa 6 here in SF - both sightings nearly broke my neck! I still wonder if they're out there somewhere...

Spotted two today!

A green 164 getting off the 24 freeway just before the 580/80 split in Oakland, and a very nice duetto, of which I took a few pics.

Out with the wife today and saw a black Giulietta Spider on side of the road, turns out it belongs to fellow BB'er Carl Goodwin, info here Giulietta/Giulia Spider Register
Turns out he just was outta gas, wonderful car, he really needs to post some pics, Had a great time learning about the car while I waited with him while his chase car went to get him some gas, would have stayed longer but wife was texting me to get a move on.

Why is it that I always spot other Alfas when I am driving a Non-alfa... Saw a guy in a spider driving past me the other day while I had the displeasure of driving a malfunctioning Chevy Blazer to the shop for a family member.... argh.
