Dark Blue GTV ('69?) at 18th near Valencia Saturday?
Very cherry, original looking dark blue GTV with euro headlights (yellow lenses on inside pair), tan upholstery, spotted on 18th Street near the Bi-Rite Market at Valencia, on Saturday afternoon, May 13. Old Alfa Romeo Association sticker on passenger window. I loitered around hoping to confront the owner but had to move on. Looked back while it was still in view a couple blocks later and spotted brunette in driver's seat, but due to recently fractured pelvis, I knew I couldn't hobble back in time to chat. Nice car and I don't remember seeing it in the Bay Area before. Que bella macchina!!!

Got to meet Green Dragon yesterday afternoon and see his beautiful Spider - shown a number of times on this board. He and his car were at Italian Performance in Belmont California when I stopped by to see how things were coming with the "refreshing" of my 78 Alfa Spider. I hope to have pics posted of my car in the next few weeks.

78alfadriver,
It was nice to meet you. I had been asking about the conversion going on with your cherry '78 spider. The '74 bumper conversion looks really clean and I'm sure that the weight savings are going to be well worth it ...as well as the sharp look of those earlier bumpers and grill. Make sure you post before and after shots as it really is a dramatic transformation.

Saturday evening saw four people in a silver Berlina on Broadway to Huntington Drive in El Sereno/Los Angeles. I gave you a 'thumbs up' from a Mercedes. Your car sounds nice!

Friday night in Villa Park around 5:30 PM I spotted a yellow european (non US) Alfa Spider from the late 90's. It was one of them FWD ones they never imported here.

Anthony was it this car? I took a picture or two of it at the potlatch last year. Cant be too many yellow newer ones ripping around. From what i recall it was a twinspark.

There are 2 or 3 going around the SF bay area that I know of...don't see them too often as they probably don't want to call attention to themselves

It looked just like that but it was a metallic color and had more green in it.

Good to know there's a few 'illegal' alfas running around the USA.
That spider up there was completely legal though, the owner had paid a very large amount for all of the legal documenting, but supposedly you can spend a good amount of money and get them from mexico.

The ones up here are legal as well. Their owners spent a good amount of money getting them here, but don't want to push their luck and have some very high-on-their-horse government official try and take that away from them...
