I saw an Alfa Romeo SZ coupe like this one today:
A pretty rare sight! I spotted it in a queue of traffic outside McDonalds in Northern Road, Cosham, Hampshire.

Dude, you were really lost, circa 1979 lost. Sorta a twilight zone thing, huh.

Hey McFly... I didn't know Delorean made a scooter. And I'd say you took a right turn. More pics.

That's a long ride on a scooter: Flat Rock, NC to southern California. We need to hear more about this....

Where that pic was taken was probably the biggest Alfa event to ever happen in my lifetime. It was the Monterey Historics in 1985 at Laguna Seca. The cars in this picture are getting lined up for the parade lap.
I have lots of pictures but most are slides so I have to scan them in.
If you are not familiar with the Historic races of 1985 this is what made it special: - ALFA was introducing the Milano to the US market
- They were the featured Marque that year
- Cars (159, P3s, Monzas etc.) were brought from the museum and DRIVEN
- The biggest group of P3s to ever be assembled in one place at one time
Who else was there?

One more of the parade. That's my GTV-6 in the foreground. This was before Laguna was extended and a few turns added. As you can see the line of cars extends for a long way.

Spotted again?
This may be the second time I have been spotted! I was there in 85 for that
event. The white spider with the headlight covers looks just like mine. If you have any pictures of the rear, cal plate 1bbu369. This was a 79 that my mom was the original owner. Sold it in 89 (big mistake). Please post more pictures of that event.

Here are a couple more from Laguna Seca 1985. Can't find the rest at the moment. The first appreared in Overheard Cams. I saved it because my car is the grey 1967 that's in the center of the photo. Several memories of that afternoon stand out:
1. The original owner of my car walked up in the parking lot, saw the new grey color (it was white), frowned, then wandered away shaking his head. Wonder what he'd think of the 501 red it wears now?
2. When the parade lap began, a number of Alfas went onto the track, then the marshalls stopped us until everyone disappeared from view. I was at the head of the next bunch to get out and I took off to catch up ... with a little too much exhuberance. Just as I dove into the corkscrew, I saw up ahead the entire line of leading cars, all under braking. I stopped in time, but so did my heart.
3. The parade lap slowed so much that I put Ted, who was nine at the time, in my lap and let him steer. Somewhere, I have a photo of him waving from the driver side window.

Wow, these pics bring back alot of memories!
I never made it to the historics, but I did manage to get to Laguna Seca about half a dozen times in the 4 or 5 years previous to 1985. We usually went to see the GTO's and GTU's race, though the SCCA club events were the best. My girlfriend at the time was able to get VIP passes from Dole when they were campaigning their Fiero.
Thanks for the flashback!
