So I take the wife a kids to San Diego for a vacation. We go to The Zoo, The Wild Animal Park, Sea World and Legoland (very cool place BTW). We see lots of exotic and endangered animals several of which can't be seen at any other zoos in the US. But I don't see a single extinct Alfa Romeo the whole week....until my six year old and I are about to turn left into the Hertz Rental car return area. I'm just about to tell him that I can't believe that we didn't see a single Alfa the whole week, when a nice white 164S drives by me. I can now say that I did and saw everthing that I wanted to on my vacation!!

Spotted this GTV6 on the corner of Kiely & Steven Creeks on 3/3/06. Also, spotted an S2 in the parking garage near Best Buy at Santana Row. I regularly see Spiders at Santana Row.

These are from yesterday.
I tracked this guy down and talked to him for a bit. Nice guy.
This was at Steve Harris Ferrari:
And this rather rough 164L was at a transmission shop across from Steve Harris Ferrari:

Last week I took my GTV6 out for a spin down here in Southern Louisiana, and to my surprise, coming the other direction was a Spider Graduate. What are the odds of two Alfa Romeo's meeting on a road in Thibodaux Louisiana? Not as low as I would have thought!

This isn't really a spotting, but worth mentioning anyways.
I was in the Milano driving down State Street when this guy in a Grand Cherokee pulled up to me and motioned for me to roll my window down. We both stopped (in the middle of the road too..) and he asked "do you need a parts car?" "sure, how come?" "I've got an '87 Alfa Milano I want to get rid of. Runs and drives fine, but the body's a bit scruffy" "oh, nice. What's your phone number?" he gave it to me and gave me his address, I told him I'd call him. "How much are you looking to get out of it?" "I don't know, make me an offer." We both drove off after that.
I called him two hours later when I got home. Turns out it's his brother's car. It's an '87 Milano Gold. The bumpers are messed up, but there's no rust. It's a California car. They've had it for about three years and his brother mentioned he wanted to get rid of it recently. It's got about 120,000 miles.
It's been snowy and rainy since yesterday and it's supposed to get a lot worse, but when it gets better, I'll go check it out. I might just buy it. A parts car would be nice, but so would a beater commuter Milano, except I'm not sure how I'd afford it yet.. I guess it depends on what it's like.

Was driving towards San Mateo California yesterday afternoon and had a very late model Alfa Spider blow by me to enter Hwy. 92. I didn't have my camera with me but I wouldn't have had enough time to take a picture. Besides, it took a second for me to realize what I was seeing. You know the feeling when you see something that is not supposed to be there? It was dark blue and I believe I saw a badge that I thought said something like 2.0T on the rear? I'm not that familiar with the latest Spiders and it is only the second one I've seen in the flesh. I didn't see a license plate so I don't know if the owner was foreign or if the car was from out of the country. If the car is legal (yeah, sure) and the owner reads this and would like to sell - i'm interested!!

It's probably the one that's on craigslist for sale every so often. Do you know if it had Cali plates or European?

I did not see any plates - European or Calif. or other states. I saw a decal on the bumper. It was the number 4, like a parking space number. I don't know how the owner gets past the CHP with a probably illegal car and no plates. As I said it was being driver rather quickly. Nice color blue though. I'll have to check out Craigslist to see if it is the same car. Thanks for the tip.

I went to Santana Row for dinner this evening and saw two Alfas. One is a gray 164 and the other a red spider with lic. plate 79 ALFA. Anybody from BB?
Crappy cold wet weather in the bay area but spotting two Alfas at the same time made my day.

Who's black 164S was at Steve Harris today? It's got California plates. I know that Evan (VerdeVeepster) is driving from San Diego to Maine in a 164, but he said he wasn't going to be in Utah, so I guess it's not his..

164 Sightings in Denver's Wash Park Area
Anyone here on the BB driving a 164 (either silver, or white) north on Downing near the Wash Park area after work??
You've been spotted twice, now...
And nice car!
