Spreading the Gospel of the Alfa BB in Novato CA

There were no Alfas in the Kragen Auto Parts lot when I went in, but a teal/green boattail was parked near the door when I came out so I waited until the owner came out. Talked a few minutes, asked if he's on the bb, he is. Then I took off to Target for some Christmas shopping. There was a red 164S parked in the Burger King lot, so I parked next to it, looked around and didn't see anyone heading toward it. I hoofed it across the lot to Target, figuring the 164S would be long gone by the time I got back. Well, it was still there when I got back and someone was headed toward it. Talked about Alfas in general, found out he didn't know of the bb, suggested he check it out. You rarely catch 2 Alfas in parking lots in the same day much less talk with the owners. And yes, you guessed it, I didn't have a camera with me. Still, it was a pretty good day- spreading the Alfa BB gospel...

Silver '74 GTV on the Embarcadero in San Francisco

I was driving around the City in my '74 GTV (also silver) while I was waiting for my wife to finish some Christmas shopping and I spotted a silver GTV parked on the Embarcadero near Broadway. Anyone?

Saw a black 164S in front of the Ferrari and Maserati Dealership of Seattle last week. Seen another black 164 several times in Redmond. Redmond is normally crawling with Porsches.

I was in San Fran this past week and must have seen 5 or 6 alfas. A silver 164, two black, a white spider and a red one. they are all over the place there. I also saw a lot of ducatis riding around the bay area.

I had a dream last night that I was driving my old Spider in San Diego of all places (I've only been there once in my life), and in the dream I saw a white early S2 Spider with a weird fat red stripe along the side. In my dream, I remember thinking to myself "I gotta remember to post that Alfa in the Alfa Spotting thread" What does that mean? Am I spending too much time on the bb???

Does a dream of an Alfa count as Alfa spotting?

To me it does! We don't see enough of them in New England this time of year!

I was sitting in *gulp* McDonalds eating breakfast this morning and saw a yellow S2 spider w/ amber turn indicators drive by on Linda Mar Blvd about 10am this morning. I was too hungry to do take out or get a picture! oh well.... it sure was nice!

Man, you are splashing out big time on your breakfasts. I moved from Vancouver, Canada to Leicester in the UK. I've lost count of the modern Alfas I've seen since I arrived, including the new GT. There are almost too many to count. But no oldies, like GTVs and Milanos. I drove a 155 twinspark and it went fairly well but walked away because I did not like the green, and the fact it had no sunroof. One of the guys in the office runs a new GTV twinspark and he's very happy with it and said it not given any problems in 100,000 miles.

LMAO! I'm not a regular at McDonalds, so no worries there!!

Too bad the only new alfa around here is for sale on Craigslist.org! and that one probably has to be deported...*sigh*

On another note, a white 164L was tailgating my dad, (alfamarty) the other day, lol.

Whose OTHER red GTV at Whole Foods?

Returning to my '74 GTV from last minute shopping at Whole Foods on Christmas Eve in Dallas, TX (corner of Lemmon Ave./ Lomo Alto), I wasn't looking too closely and almost tried to get into the wrong car! Behold! It was ANOTHER red GTV alongside mine in an adjacent remote parking area, similarly trying to avoid your typical parking lot door beaters on a very windy day. Very nice restoration w/ new Panasports gleaming brightly. Anyone on this digest?
