gtaj,
I wanted to let you know that if you click on the edit button in your postings with image links you can change the link to show the image instead. All you need to do is click on "edit" lower right of your posting and change the "url" code before and after the links to "img". By doing this the images will load onto the page.
Alternatively you can also save the images to your computer then attach them to your post by using the "Manage Attachments" button when creating new posts or replies. By doing this the images will be saved here on the site which is more preferable since outside links sometimes fail or are removed and will leave us with dreaded red X's where the images should be.
I just wanted to reiterate that this is just a recommendation and not a rule.
PS - This is a great thread with lots of good photos so keep 'em coming!

Andrew,
Here are a couple more of your GTA at lakeside in '68 when it was in its white clothes. John French racing.
Good to keep the pictures going up I reckon even if only for reference in the future.

Aluminium 'T' bar
Hi
I am the very happy owner of the ex-Mildren TI Super . I am just about to re-paint and generally tidy up but definately not a restoration as I wish to retain it's patina. It lost it's original aluminium trunnion bar when converted to sliding block but I would like to refit one, I read somewhere that someone in Australia is remaking them - there is one on e-bay but no response as to maker - can someone give me a contact name and number?
Many thanks Richard

Andrew, I was re re-reading this thread and note that pics of the series 1 slide block fitted to your GTA have not been posted, that I could find.
I would like to see those pics.
Regards
Ken

GTA SlideBlock
Ken, I have sold that particular GTA. But here is a pic of the frame out of the car. It used the same pin as the later type. This type was lower than the later type. I do not know if this was fabricated in Australia or done at Autodelta.
Regards
Andrew

That looks like the Bowin built unit used in the Foley F2 16v car...

Reading the start of the thread, looks like it makes sense...

How close to its 16valve ultralight form was it when you bought it?

Foley GTA
It was very close indeed when I bought it. Only change was F2 engine was fitted with 8V narrow angled head, the firewall was more extensively modified and the fuel tank was an aluminium one sitting over the earlier fabricated unit.

You restored it to it's original form?
As much as its neat to see stuff restored to how it left the factory, I have to say I think its kinda a shame that the two Foley cars have been turned back into their factory form... both the GTAm-V8 and the GTA-F2 were pretty special race cars, and now they're just like every other GTA/GTAm...
Must have been a heck of alot of work to take it back to stock. What became of the F5000 based front suspension?
Mind you, the other extreme is the Green Alfetta GT rally car became the Riccardello Sports sedan...

Foley GTA
yep back to original Autodelta form.
Difficult decision at time and a lot of work. But it was one of only 5 RHD Autodelta cars.
The Green rally car became the Tony Edmondson Sports sedan and was written off. The Ricciardello cars 1 and 2 were built in Perth from scratch.
Regards
Andrew

Sorry, yes, the Edmondson car... might have been the mention of Ricciardello earlier in the thread threw me...
What happened to all the bits you pulled off of it to turn it back to normal like the flared guards/fuel & oil tanks/suspension?

All went with the car when sold. All suspension, guards, fuel tank, wheels etc.

Andrew, In view of "la stegra nera's" reply about the fabricated slider frame and drawings from 1972 do you now think that the frame is Australian design/build or was Bovin copying something that was there for replacement or other puposes?
Do you know when GTA 752561 went through Auto delta? I have A/D build dates for a few RHD GTAs based on the A/D build sheets.
I think we have been down the road on "But it was one of only 5 RHD Autodelta cars" before so this time maybe you can expand on what you know or have heard of these 5, serial numbers, refences etc.
Where are 752561 and 752547 now? Was 752547 also an A/D GTA?
Ciao
Ken
