The morning after the operation...

...well not quite, had it done for a couple of weeks now, but wanted to get the Alfaholics kit and wheels on before I took any pics.

Anyway, just as a point of reference, here's what it looked like before the hole filling/panel replacement/respray:

Now it looks like this:

Now all I need is a seat and a harness to go with it. And maybe a cage. And maybe a cheeky camshaft or two. No stop it - enough money spent this year already!

They're "MAG PRODUCTS" wheels made in the '70s in the UK. Mine are 15x6J which is quite rare in itself - all the others I've seen are 14in. I've wrapped them in 195/55 R15 Yokohama A539 tyres... Mmm Yoko's!

Thanks BKCowGod! It was a bit more rotten than that picture suggests, it needed a new front panel and radiator cross member, each sill corner was wrotten and the driver's side outer sill needed replacing. The front wings also mad some minor holes in it and the rear valance needed some work.

A bit more info about the car... it's a 1300 GT Junior (not sure if they sold those in the states)... When I got it there was already a 2000cc engine installed running on twin Dellorto carbs (20k since rebuild) and a new gearbox.

Since I have had the car I have installed an LSD rear axle, an Alfaholics low kit (-50mm) and 28mm front roll bar, Bilstein shocks and new bushes. The rear anti-roll bar has been removed. This weekend I have some aluminium Brembo 2-pot calipers going on there (that I rescued from a rotten 75 3.0 V6), braided hoses and a new ISMAF exhaust.

I'd really like to put a stainless steel exhaust and manifold on it but they're a bit expensive over here at the moment (£600 or about $1100US).

My next mod will be to fit a decent bucket seat and harness.

To be honest the best mod (value for money wise) to date has been to fit poly t-bar bushes, this has really located the back axle and stopped the "float" I used to experience when putting the power down. I would definately recommend this to anyone who hasn't done it!

I intend to use the car on track days and will hopefully compete in some hillclimbs and sprints later this year. I will also be making the trip to Le Mans in it this summer.

In case anyone is interested I saw a set of these wheels in 14x6 on ebay currently up for auction. (Only a day left) Item # 4536328830

They do look great on the gtv's!

did you fit the 3 bushes? the diff/Tbar bush and the 2 Tbar/chassis bushes?
Which ones? the blue ones? or others?
At www.performatek.com there are 3 kind of tbar/diff bushes. I don't know if they have the other ones...
Here in Portugal Alfa racers are fitted with bronze bushes replacing the Tbar/chassis ones.

The bushes came from www.alfaholics.co.uk. I think they were blue Superflex poly bushes. All three were done. At the same time I replaced the trailing arm bushes with heavy duty ones.
