I think legal in CA, illegal in Virginia, then ... you have to ask and if legal be sure to have a printer paper explaining its legal... because however it will be unusual.
Well, I think this topic is devoted to photos...so
Here is my car with new alloy wheels (they existed but were optional).
I changed because the steel ones were not made for tubeless tires and they are nice too ;-)

hahaha, I need to do so many things that are more of a priority, the yellow lens will be on the back burner, anyway
still, they really stand out on your car.

G'day Oz3litre. Yes I've been absent for while. Job and location change (left military after 27 years!, kids, house etc, you know how it is. I also sold the 164 so didn't feel worthy....
But I now have a new shed so possibly, just possibly, room for another car
JEAN-LOUIS: I had steel wheels on my '79 and they were definitely OK for tubeless tyres. I'm surprised Alfa would make a tube type wheel in the same pattern???? I lived for a few years in a hot region without speed limits and never blew a tyre.. thankfully. 'analogue' photo below (check the date!).

beautiful car !
I love this color too.
Yes many people keep the steel wheels but they definitely do not have the proper profile for tubeless tyres and if there is any rust around the valve they leak.
And using an inner tube with a tubeless tyre may also be dangerous...
Profile H2 is supposed to be the best one for tubeless:

I see Beatle you appear to have had the post `79 steel rims (rectangular slots, light hump, and black plastic centres) so Jean-Louis may be right-the earlier steel rims might not have been able to accomodate tubless tyres safely. Either way these cars look great.

RBY428k In Finland
Hi attached is a pic of my 1971 Montreal outside the hotel at the 25th International Montreal meeting in Finland earlier this year in June 2011. It was a great trip from the UK through France, Holland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Hope to see you all in Tuscany Sept 2012.

you want to trade cars for land? that is strange...
I guess one could get a awful lot of land for a Alfa.

Ok, now she's mine.
My iPhone was pretty much pushed to the max on this. I'll be taking a lot more photos as the days (years) go by.
