FINALLY got some good photos of the Spider! A little backstory on the color: I bought this car just over ten years ago with this spectacular non-original "Verde da Corso Inglese" paint job. When I look inside the engine bay I can see the original "Pine Green" on the inner fenders, but this is a much darker color than the original Alfa. After owning British sports cars for decades, I had to fall in love with this color, but it wasn't till a few years ago that I found out where it came from.
A local exotic-car dealership (anybody want to buy a Spijker? :-) had a Father's Day car show a year or two ago, with everything from Lamborghinis and Ferraris to someone's absolutely pristine Plymouth Duster. Big fun! I parked this Spider on the lawn and a few minutes later, a 1967 Jaguar E Type pulled in next to me.
The two cars were EXACTLY the same shade of green. We could have shared touch-up paint, if the E Type had any scratches (which it didn't...) So now I know what to ask for when I finally have the Spider redone.
Here's one with my "other" two-seat convertible in the background:
Another with a better sense of the car's actual color:
They're all on my Alfa Romeo set on Flickr:
Alfa Romeos on Flickr
Check them out! (You might also like the 1933 8C2300 in that set, the one that came in second in the 1934 Le Mans race...)

Wow! Thanks, Murray! I mean, I think so every time I open the garage door, but then I'm biased. :-)
Of course, I've been careful not to show the driver's-side rocker panel in these photos... why, yes, we do have some bubbles coming through the paint there, why do you ask? But when I have that fixed, the paint is going back as close to this color as I can get it.
Thanks again!

It's just a great year for Spiders and I have always been a sucker for green.

And more practical too! :-)
When I bought my Spider, it had a pair of seatbelts in the rear. Since my two youngest kids were 3 and 7 at the time, they were therefore small enough to fit behind the seats. So when the oldest was in "Science Camp" one week, I took all four of us out for ice cream a few weeks after I brought the Spider home.
Wouldn't want to try it again, as the 3-year-old is now 13 and almost as tall as I am. I'll be teaching him to drive in the Spider before you know it...

What colour are lemons? But seriously, I like yellow too!

It's October, and here where suburban Portland meets rural Washington County farmland, that means only one thing:
The last top-down days of the year, most likely, so I'm out enjoying each one while they last...

That is just the most gorgeous photo, sfisher71! We can only dream of such vivid Autumn colours here, but the payoff is that we can drive top down all year round, or at least assess the weather on a daily basis. Enjoy!!!

Hey SZ00044
Please remove those pictures . They are simply too breathtaking to look at.
I fear you next post here will be your TZ and you GTA. Do yor drive the cars or are they sleeping in a collection.
Lars
PS oh I see now you have a Giulia Spider and a 1750 GTV too - let's see them

Get some wax on them and do some detailing, then we'll tell you what we think .
