You'll learn to love windwings - I've driven on several rallies in 100+ degree heat for 8 hours of driving - with nothing but windwings. Not so bad so long as you keep moving!
Congrats on scoring the car and bringing it back to the promised land!

She needs a little TLC but he has done a great job keeping her in good shape. We still have the original black CA plates (Still has the 1967 tag on it) that i will be heading down to DMV to get placed back on the car.

That car is gorgeous, you lucky bugger! I love the colour. Is it "Dutch blue"? The old step nose cars look really neat. I prefer the single headlights over the dual ones. What engine does it have?

Its the original 1600 engine. Not sure what the color was called but it is the original color on the car. Its going to have to be repainted sooner or later but i will need to find someone who can keep it this color.

Is your step-father called John?
I got to see a nice gentleman with a car that looked just like this one (he said a 1965) last night at PIR for the Beaches/Drag races fun evening.
What a looker of a car.

Yeah thats him.
He was taking it out for a spin and to show it off before i came up a got her. Well i've always thought it was a 1964. I'll have to check the VIN when i get up there and see if i'm wrong or not. He has done a lot of work on the car over the last 6 months to get her up and running. I feel pretty special that he is allowing me to take the car. It will stay in the family and give my parents more reason to come down to Sacramento and visit during the summer.
Here is a pic he sent me from last night.

Ask him to send you a picture with a blue '69 with a red nose. That's my car. You are getting one hell of a car to look after. You should feel very lucky - it is a real looker.

Here is my little baby getting a 'small engine upgrade'. Its a 1976 Alfetta GT that I've had now for I guess about 2 years. It's my 6th Alfa, and my first of two GT's, and it will never be sold if I can help it. Its been about 10 months in the build and I've done as much myself as I possibly could, but as it always the case, i've had a hand from some very good friends along the way. The whole drive train is overhauled / modified to take the hp. It's not running yet, but it will not be too long now. It will be a weekend cruiser, and is really just an excuse to tinker, which is what I enjoy most.
oh, almost forgot! The engine is a fuel injected supercharged, turbocharged 2liter.

Hi Jeff, indeed it is, infact down here in Hobart, Tassie. Having seen Mike's car, let alone followed his thread on the build, I can confirm the quality of the engineering in the build, let alone just how impressive overall is his GT. Mike is an engineer so it does help a little.
I am really keen to see just how well the car goes once finished. Having seen a couple of other Alfetta's that Mike has worked on (his original silver sedan) and his "race" car, I don't have any doubts this one too will be excellent.
Mike, PM me when you can as I need your home address so that I can send you a club membership form I have here at work for you. Dave

Oh - the builder of the silver sedan...I've wanted to lock him in my garage with my sedan for awhile now! Very impressive work - wish he was closer!
