I have always thought it is best to keep a car in its original colour or an original colour for the model. If you are going to change the colour the problem is that you have to repaint every nook and cranny or it is obvious that it has been changed. There is nothing worse than a red car with yellow under the boot lid or bonnet. I have seen people repaint cars in unbelievably bad colours. I used to have a 1956 beetle that was the rare Coral Red, (or Manley Tan in Australia) and the current owner apparently repainted it in a horrible green. I haven't seen it and don't want to, or I might cry. All of the colours on Beetles in that period were nice pastel shades.

Told the wife I wanted to put some break-in miles on the new tires on Saturday. She said ready yet? No, , not yet cause I got a fuel leak from the cannister filter I had just put in. So off comes the Spica air cleaner and I tighten up the bolt. But , I don't like the look of one of the lines going into the filter. Simply heh, nothing working on a car is simple . The clamp ring holding the hose can't move cause it's butted up against the bolt that hold the cannister to the body. After much consternation, I cut 1/4" from the end of the hose and manage to get the clamp where I like it. Now (much wiser), I start the car BEFORE putting the air cleaner back - no leaks . Now, as I'm sweating profusely, we leave to check progress on the summer cottage .
ps. 2nd photo is esposed for correct colour of the car

Cool car Christopher. We have the same year Spider and same color.
I think them Ivory Spiders are fastest since they don't absorb as much sun heat like the black ones. But I could be wrong.
On top of that, the dust don't show as well as other colors.
