Billy,
The 1.6 Alfetta with that super clean single headlamp front is one of my favourite Alfas - what a great car you have! Wonderful restoration job and be sure to enjoy driving it often, so it can talk to you!
Congratulations!

1988 Spider Graduate
Greetings all, thought I'd share some shots of my recently-acquired '88 Spider Graduate (my first Alfa) that has, thus far, proven a complete blast. Not sure I can adequately describe the experience in words, but the phrases or adjectives "raw," "mechanically uncensored," and "animated" frequently come to mind. My faithful four-pawed "co-pilota" is featured in two of the shots and does she ever have a ball.
Stuart
PS - excuse the ratty seat covers - re-upholstery begins later this week...

Stuart,
Welcome to the AlfaBB. When you redo the seats, keep one of the covers so you can slip it over the passenger seat the next time your four legged friend goes along for a ride.

Thanks for the tip, Gifford - I'll keep the less-ratty cover for those jaunts with my canine buddy. Cheers, Stuart

1969 Roundtail Spider rare color?
I just acquired this 1969 Alfa Spider. It just arrived and needs a thorough cleaning. It is a very pale blue color which Alfa Storico confirmed was "Sky Blue". It has had 1 repaint which is slighter lighter than the original color when compared to the dashboard. I have only seen 1 other Duetto/Roundtail in this color, and it was a '68 European version. My car is a US fuel injected version. I was curious if others have seen this color in other roundtails and also specifically if they were '69 US versions. Marco could not verfiy production numbers based on colors. It's a really nice original example (except trunk lid) with only 80,000 original miles.

In Summer 1969 I saw a baby blue Duetto that inspired me to acquire one (a Duetto) as soon as I could. I have no idea of it's origin or pedigree but I doubt it was repainted, being either a 67 Duetto or early 69 Spider. I have seen the occasional sky blue car since then. Very nice!

Here is Ava
She's sat too long. Trying not to get too down, but I think she needs engine, tranny, and brakes gone through. Can't get her to turn. (wont try the starter, I don't want to make things worse.) The brake pedal resisted then went right to the floor no more resistance. If I'm going to do that much work on her I might as well do it right. ....Right?

Russell: Mechanical restoration is a snap compared to dealing with rotted bodywork. Besides, if you intend to drive it you want it to be safe and reliable. You would have to do much the same on say, a Spider from the 80s that sat unused for 10 years. And theres no comparison when it comes down to looks and charm. Go for it!

Thanks for a little pep talk, it can be overwhelming
I inherited this car from my older brother. I didn't really start working to maintain her till 4-5 years after he died. Man I worked hard replacing the manifold and exhaust. The rust is just getting to all the places with no paint, and there is missing metal under the battery area in the trunk. I just keep looking at the restored darlings to think I could still get her there.
