Hi, the top pic is on the Col d'Assos, the bottom on the pass over ont Galibier, both are in the Frech Alps. You might see them in the Tour de France this year, Galibier is one of the famous climbs. My girlfreind and I did a two week tour from Lake Constance, though Switzerland, down the Route des Haut Alpes to Nice, along the Frech Riviera and home via Lake Garda and the Austrian Alps. Altogether about 2700 km in two weeks, the car (1973 S2) didn't miss a beat.
I'm pretty lucky as I can be in the Alps in 1.5 hours, and my spider loves the switchbacks and passes - picture the Pass from the end of the Italian Job and imagine driving these all day (if I knew how, I'd insert a big grin smilie here).

Very nice! I don't know if your model Alfa ever made it to the USofA, I do know I've never seen one before. Aside from Spiders & 164s, the 80s & newer years Alfas are very rarely seen here...I've been in So. Florida for 4+ years & have spotted 1--a yellow Series 4 Spider...sad!
Regards.

After the demise of the great 105 Series cars, the USA saw the following:
1973-1982 Spider Series II (big rubber bumpers after 1974)
1975-1979 Alfetta GT (also called Sprint Veloce in 79)
1975-1979 Alfetta Sport Sedan (various versions)
1981-1986 GTV6
1983-1990 Spider Series III (Graduate, Veloce and Quadrifoglio versions)
1987-1989 Milano (called the '75' elsewhere, came in 3 2.5L and 1 3.0L versions)
1991-1995 164 (several versions, all with 3.0L V6)
1991-1994 Spider Series IV
So, the Alfetta Sedan like that nice Red one is a model which WAS brought to the USA. The Alfa Six, 90, Alfasud, 33 and 155 were not.
There are LOTS of Alfas in Florida. You must just not be looking in the right places.

I've seen quite a few at shows & meets, but that's it...I had to go up to Annapolis, MD to buy my '91 Spider! As far as seeing any on-the-road, the 1 I mentioned is it.
I lived, for years, in So. California & saw tons of Alfas---even very rare ones being driven regularly---I saw quite a few in Virginia/Maryland/N. Carolina, too. Apparently in SoFlo they're kept in hiding---or I AM looking in the wrong places!
Regards.

Well - sort of - the '83 Q pictured was a later updated version of our "Sport Sedan" which had significantly altered (updated? ) interior and exterior bits and trim (especially the rear 3/4 of the body). So, you may spot something that looks a lot like it, but not exactly...

You are right, of course...however, I was trying to simply point out that Alfas actually were sold here in the USA in several forms during the '70s, '80s and early '90s. I didn't wish to get into a bunch of detail as that would take several pages.

Gone for some driving, in those nice roads around here.
After that, the car broke up (front drivetrain), and it's garaged since april now.
Alfas! Sometimes a big smile, more times a big trouble!

As I know it - some or all may be true
- the previous owner an Alfisti was selling a few Alfas to fund his new Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione . He sold them through a well known ALfa specialist in the UK Jamie Porter - there was also a Montreal and a Miata with | |
