Hello Ken. I have just been reading about the GTA reunion planned around the convention (unfortunately the same weekend as the Mosport Vintage Festival). They are talking about upwards of 40 Alfas running in a side by side race so that is now mighty tempting for the racecar. I am split on the decision at the moment. Doug

Great photo. I really like the one you took going into the corner ahead of the formula alfa. This was before the clutch started to go south. Doug

New to Alfaholics Anonymous
Hi folks,
Just picked up our "new" 84 spider this afternoon. I've been lurking on the boards for a couple weeks, looks like some really good info and resources. Being 25 years old, it has some quirks, but looks to be in pretty good original shape so far. I'm sure I'll be posting for info.
1984 Spider Veloce 50,000 miles. Red, tan interior. Central FL.
(guess i should have moved the recycle bins before taking the pics, oh well)
Ciao.

Welcome to the BB and also to Alfa Ownership, Phil!! Please chack and see if you have a local Alfa Romeo Owners' Club. That will help you keep your car running and you will meet some great new friends, too!

It depends on whether you're crazy (wait, I know the answer to that) and whether you can miss Friday practice at Mosport. I'm planning on driving down to watch the track event and the race, watch the autocross Friday morning and drive back Friday afternoon / evening. I'll be at the Festival Saturday morning. Of course I'm not towing or driving on the track.

Welcome to the board! Your car looks lovely and so does your house and neighbourhood. Where are you? Our older suburbs here in Australia are very similar with big blocks, wide streets and bungalow style houses. In South Australia houses are mostly brick, but in Victoria timber is the more common material. Our housing style was influenced early on by the American style. Unfortunately there is a movement these days towards cramming houses close together on small blocks in order to maximize profit.

Now you are talking. Joe Cannella had not heard about the GTA Reunion race until today and he is crazy enough to try and do both events as well. It is about a ten hour drive I believe. We will see what happens. Doug

Fabrizio, I still think it's crazy that we have never crossed paths. I've been using my Verde on a daily basis for the last few years, and before that, my 2.5 Gold. Your car looks nice!

UK 73 Giulia super 1.6
Hi all
this is my 73 Giulia Super 1.6, 105.28 UK Model, built 15th Feb 1973.
Photo's are prior to the new springs being fitted so she's riding high all round and front bumper not fitted yet.
As the 3rd owner from new I aquired her (after a search of quite a few years for a UK model that wasn't eaten away by the rust monster too much) in 2005 just after she was used in the BBC TV "Life on Mars" series 1.
Undergone extensive renovation since then with replacement floor pans (originals were not in too bad a condition / repairable but to save having to do it again in a few years, and whilst the sills were off, did it now), Outer , Middle & parts of the Inner sills and a fair amount of the lower body panels and respray in original Blue Ollandese to finish.
All suspension, steering rebushed and powder coated alond with wheels, plus new shocks, uprated springs & a 29mm HB front anti roll bar.
Gearbox and rear axle refurbished by Charlie Skinner (superb job). New discs & Calipers all round with Braided hoses fitted.Refurbished both Servos.
Head skimmed, mild porting, new guides, valves & springs and a pair of 2000 cams.
Bottom end rework with crank regrind & Dynamic Balance with flywheel, new liners / pistons.
Front seats reupholstered and recovered ( brilliant bloke in County Durham who stitched in the new cloth to the old Alfatex and stitched in the original pattern to the new cloth). New headlining.
Driving her takes me back to 1978 when I owned my first Giulia Super, even smells the same.
Cheers Stu

Tony,
Did you buy that from Max in Canada?

That is really a prime example you have there.
There is another Giulia running around i Denmark which has the same deep blue colour. Tht has the inside re-upholstered in soft, soft tan leather - un-original, but nice. I am going to have to stop checking the BB, since I still have a few weeks before I can get my own Giulia on the road after winter hibernation.
I'll post some new pictures of it then. With the rebuilt Dellorto's, the re-built diff with a torsen 40% LSD built in and finally with a set of wonderful GTA 7x15" replicas, shod with nice 195/55 profile.
If anybody has any recommendations regarding tyre choice, I'd appreciate any input.
