Hi my name is Greig & I'm an Alfaholic..........
Yup, got the disease bad, also have the itch syndrome & mine only gets relief when I buy another Alfa.
As to cptn WOW's wheels, I've got the same set, they are either original Cromadora's or a South African knock-off called Tiger Wheel Crusaders. My friend Ian's are done in fine silver, with the spoke edges & outside rim in polished aluminium, I plan to do mine in very light charcoal grey, with polished spoke edges & a polished outer rim.
These are the only set of after market rims I have for Alfa's & are destined for my '69 GT 1300 J, all my other cars run on original steel rims & hubcaps.
The sunroof is an after-market item, made by Webasto. It was discussed a few years ago on this site - check the GT/GTV archives.
I'd guess that your 1750 was exported to Oz from South Africa, there are lots of GTV's here with Webasto sun roofs.
With regard to comments - to each his own & also to each his opinion, Richard's comments & apology are noted, so let's move on.
Richard - That's a lovely Touring Spider, white really does suit the lines of those cars.
Ciao

Some folks prefer modern Alfas, others prefer older cars. Some like them stock and others like them modified. Some regions of the world like white-walled tires. Not everyone has your taste in Alfas. And there is NOTHING wrong with that.
So, please continue to enjoy your lovely stock Touring Spider, which I know you love. I will continue to drive and love my more modern (and modified) '88 Milano (75) 3.0L Verde, my slightly modified '82 Spider and my '84 GTV6 Maratona, while others will do the same with their own wonderful Alfas - RWD, FWD, AWD, 4, 6 or 8 cylinder, boxer, in-line or V engined...there's room for everyone here.

I'm with you on this one.

Hi Alex what is a Maratona, I know quit a lot of the names given , but that is a new one.
BTW, according to a lot of people the 75 was the last real alfa built, and that 6cyl motor is a fantastic motor, I had the same motor in my Lancia Thema SW LX, boy was that a great car.
My last new Alfa was a 166 JTD chipped to 180 Bhp, also an amazing car once you got used to the turbo lag in low revs.
I have always driven Italian cars until now, starting off with a fiat uno turbo, going onto a miafiori super sport Walter rorhl edition and then various big lancias and alfa's, but when you got to baby girls you need something bigger so I got an Espace 3lt dci which is big and very fast, over 200bhp in a diesel family van which seats 7, is amazing, it tops out at 215 Kmh amazing .
My first classic alfa was a Guillieta Sprint 750 series, in absolutley perfect condition, which i sold when i got the spider.

In 1984, Alfa Romeo USA decided to put out 150 'special' GTV6 cars, with an added body trim package. They were all Silver, and had black leather interiors, side skirts, Maratona badges, the 1985-style TRX wheels, Tropic-Aire A/C, rear license plate plastic valance, rear window louvers, fog lamps, front spoiler and fender flares. Although mostly just a marketing and trim package, only 150 were ever made. I like them and bought one to restore (it just needs a light restoration).
The photos are not of mine. I got them from Richard Sirgany's Autovolante site. He's the guy who still has the molds for the flares and Maratona kit, and he was involved in the original cars.
See Fred? I got the pics!!

thats a badass looking GTV6. it seems like it should have the abilty to travel through time or something.
Would it be a bad idea to put 14" GTA replicas on my 1750 (see prior page)? I remember hearing somewhere that the GTA's were for the GTV 2000's, not the 1750's. Is that true?

Wheels etc
Nice 1750.
I am biased but the best wheels to use are the GTA Campagnolos, the Montreal Campagnolos or the Cromodora Daytona see pics. Also the rare Borrani alloy is interesting. I confine myself to wheels that were available in period. All of the above were available circa 1970. I believe that the Montreal type Campagnolo rim was actually an optional 1750 wheel before the Montreal was built.
The Montreal rims are a bit hard to get but there is always the 5 1/2 inch version which is more freely available and still looks good.
See pics. I am in Perth if you want to see any close up.
regards
Andrew

The body kit is still available from Richard Sirgany's shop. If you buy a standard GTV6, you can make it look like a Maratona if you like.
Here are some more pics, plus an Alfa brochure (thanks to Richard Sirgany's website and shop in Florida for these photos). At the end is a pic of what I believe is an Australian GTV6 racer which is just plain badddddddd!

Just had a new top put on, as well as some sheepskin seat covers, a new shift knob, a new stereo, four new BF Goodrich Traction T/A tires in a 205/60-14 size and a new set of Alfa logo floor mats. Kathleen is happy to be driving her Birthday present.
