Possibly a scam but if it's real it's worth more than $35,000 and if it was a scam he would have accepted a lot less and let you send a down payment of say $500 that you would never see again. The scammers will take whatever they can, full pop, great, half, fine, deposit, cool. They don't care since they are trying to bilk as many suckers as posible. Trust me if he were a crook he would have said yes!

Agreed - the fact that he refused any offer is a good indicator that it's legit.
The owner knows he's got a nice car, and also knows it's worth more than $35K.

That is a great pic with the sun rays over the cars. Proof that Alfa Romeos are sacred.

Wish I could claim to have taken the picture. It's in the most recent issue of the NWARC's "Iniezione" as well, but the club website is not uploading the newsletter right now. I too loved the look of the sun streaming through the fog.
(It was a great 650-mile drive too!!) Lots of twisties and lots of beautiful Olympic views.

Looks good! I just made an offer on an 89 Black Spider that I think the owner will take it. I'm looking forward to getting a top down vehicle again. It's funny how when I first started eyeing Alfa's in the early 80's I always wanted a spider but never got one. It was Milano, GTV6, nothing, then 164L, 164S another GTV6 and now hopefuly a Spider then a 1750 GTV real soon.

1981 Spider Veloce
I purchased the car a couple of months ago and finally finished phase one of getting it roadworthy. California car, no rust. Interior is a mess, but the body is straight. New Pirelli P6 tires and a full High Performance brake system from Centerline are now installed.
Next will be to get it smogged. No small feat in California.
Not bad for a grand (plus two more for tires, brakes and assorted bits).
