My New Toy!!! :)!!
Hey Guys,
Just Picked up a 1992 164S for $250!!
It has a coolant leak, but I think its just the hose because the water pump and timing belt were done about 1000 miles ago. It has had the head replaced about 30k ago. The clutch is in good shape as well. The head gaskets have been replaced recently. Tires are Pirellis and like new. Very Nice Sony stereo.
Needs:
> Power steering pump
> either new hoses to the water pump or a new water pump
>front power seat motors need looking at
>needs paint on roof, trunk, and hood.
>convex "bump" needs to be fixed.
> trunk hinges need some work to be alligned.
Pictures:
Its soooo straight:
So straight except for that one bump:
Trunk needs painting as well:
As well as the roof:
As well as the hood. Where's the badge?! :
Front Interior Shot(don't worry, its the light that makes it different looking):
Rear Interior Shot:

Because it needs a power steering pump ($$$$$$$$) and $2,000 worth of body work. Great deal though! Awesome looking S!

Mostly because the coolant leak, it couldn't have been driven anywhere.
The paint on the side is fine, just the top...
Thanks!!

ARRGGGG
Grant: "No way zach, there's no possible way that car could be selling for $250. It's a typ-o for sure!"
Zach: "I sure hope so..It would be a shame if it really was only a couple bills and you lose out on a deal like that."
Grant: "Ha! No possible way it's 250, don't worry"
This was last night. ARRGGG
Congrats Sean. Atleast it went to someone that actually needs the car!

ps -- about the front power seat motors, i know it sounds strange, but try hitting the motors with a wrench (not hard enough to cause damage, just jostle them around a little, maybe by hand instead of a wrench). The driver front power seat in my bro's 164L wasn't working and he read that somewhere and tried it and crazily enough it worked!!!

A lot of times it ends up being a loose connector underneath the seat. Tap the motor and clean/tighten the connectors.
I'm still in awe..

I was thinking about rims, but pretty much, the mechanical stuff comes first.

Haha, he just wanted to get rid of it before it started collecting traffic fines. It also had to be towed home because of the massive coolant leak. I see a shotty repair job done on one of the coolant hoses, so that might be the culprit. I'll try the front seat trick that you & Grant prescribed.
Will someone buy my Mercedes 420SEL so I can start on my alfa please?

Okay, finally had a sunny day and so I pulled the passenger's side wheel off and then unscrewed the panel to expose the side of the engine. It was making some horrible metal scraping noise and so I discovered that the water pump wheel was rubbing against the main crankshaft wheel. It still doesn't describe the large coolant leak or does it? The PO had the timing belt done just before I bought it (@ 111k miles) and normally one would do the water pump also?
cheers!

That doesnt sound good.
I almost want to sabotage your efforts to sell the GTV6. You need a RWD car sean, its for your own good.
