Richard, the coupé has a length of 4,49m at a width of 1,61 m. The conv. is 4,34 m at 1,61. The hight of the coupé is 1,35 whereas the conv. is 1,37 with closed soft top. In my opinion the coupe also looks much more grown up while the convertible has somewhat strange proportions. I am 1,88 m tall and when I attended a convertible meeting this summer, the participants voted me the most funny looking car/driver combo, somewhat like Donald Duck in his car, either Donald too big or car too small.

Gearbox Update

When the convertibile was bought, it was equipped with a Pininfarina 2.5 single carb gearbox, which had been overlooked. The pinion/crown ratio of this is 12x47 whereas the convertibile 2.5 3C should have 13x47. These gearboxes are hard to find, but a friend of mine acquired a couple of gearboxes among which was a 13x47 out of a convertibile 2.8 3C, which he passed on to me.

This gearbox was installed until today. Meanwhile another 13x47 box has found its way to my shop, has been restored and is now in process of installation.

In order to position the heavy piece easily, the transmission jack received a tailor made Flaminia-gearbox-support.
